Again, why do I even try to participate in an intelligent debate when you come up with something like this.

I said Zachary's school property taxes almost doubled, NOT their entire property tax bills. I used the example of my friend hoping his property taxes don't go from their current $3,000 to $5,000+. That is NOT doubling or tripling.

I'm going to take a break and walk away from this thread. I get the sense that all you and the other SG supporters want to try and do is make 'gotcha' posts and questions, even going to the point of misquoting what I've written.

I have yet to see anyone offer any solid evidence supporting any of your opinions of SG's finances. And we're going in circles repeating the same things over and over again.

Frankly part of me is hoping SG happens just so I can come back and say 'I told you so' when the tax increase shite hits the fan, which it will. But I'm afraid a split would be too painful for everyone in the parish just so I can gloat at little.

Has any poster suggested that tax increases wouldn't be needed for the school district?

BTW...an article this morning from NOLA.com outlines exactly what we were discussing last night. LINK

OK so when you said property taxes in Zachary doubled it was just for the schools and not their entire tax bill, but then you mention your friend and you state he's afraid his bill would increase from 3K to 5K we have to assume the additional 2K would be to build new schools and would have to be a doubling of school taxes.

You are obviously using the Obama style to debate where you have to parse every work and talk in riddles.

This entire thread began when you tried to compare the budget St. George backers submitted with budgets from other cities in order to prove the St. George numbers were too low.

You neglected to analyze each budget and you include cities whose budgets include fire dept., garbage pickup, police departments, and no telling what in an effort o make your comparison figures seem like St. George was being misleading with their figures when you obviously knew that parish wide systems would take care of garbage, mosquito control, libraries, parks, and that special fire districts would take care of fires and the sheriff was authorized to provide police protection.

Now you challenge us to provide our own figures. Why should we when the St. George backers already have and your attempt to shoo them down failed.
