You gave reasons for the 4 but didn't mention that they still failed under Monty.
So you have to be 100% to get credit for "developing" players? Again, I'm not even saying he's developing players, I'm saying he's "developing" players.

It's not necessarily Monty but it's definitely not something Monty would put on his resume.
I don't think you can get Gordon to start rebounding and playing physical defense any more than you can get Okafor to dunk instead of missing layups. Getting players to focus on what skills to maximize or minimize is not the same thing as giving them a motor transplant.

Look, practically every single big man that's come through here has improved under Monty. Gustavo Ayon was showcased enough that he brought us back Ryno in a S&T, and now he's not playing significant minutes in the NBA. Ajinca was an afterthought and Monty had him tearing up the NBA in his first couple games. I think he understands the game from the eyes of the bigs because that was the role he played AND he is a great teacher in that regards.
I simply do not think that he understands the game from the eyes of the guards. He's never had to. All he knows is that his most difficult task was to keep them from getting to the rim, so he asks that of them. He's never been asked to manage a game. He wasn't even a HC before this on a failed team or a college program.
Look at the coaches that are coaching successful teams. By career coach I mean they knew they weren't going to be all-stars in the NBA and devoted themselves to the coaching profession, read between the lines at all the "career coaches".:
OKC - Brooks, career coach
Spurs - Pop, yeah...
Blazers - Stotts, career coach
Clippers - Rivers, PG
Warriors - Jackson, PG
Houston - McHale, coach, all-star, champion, played with and against legends
Suns - Hornacek, SG
Mavs - Carlisle, career coach
Wolves - Adelman, career coach
Pacers - Vogel, career coach
Heat - Spolstra, career coach
Hawks - Budenholzer, career coach
Notice, none of those were role-playing power forwards than assistants with one team under the tutelage of a failed head coach.
He is just simply over his head.
