Punctuation error. Sanctions left. In the Big ten or 14 or 13 plus Rutgers

Penn State has John Wooden syndrome. No matter who is there you ain't Joe Pa

well...
Prestige wise (even w/the scandal), facilities, and recruiting grounds its Penn State
HOWEVER
UL was paying Strong $3.7 million while PSU was playing O'Brien $2.3 million. That is a pretty big difference in pay.
BB has specifically cited the PSU donors as a big reason for leaving. They wouldn't leave him alone and were constantly comparing him to JoePa. That plus the scadel fallout has got to make the quality of life juuuust a bit worse than it would be at UL.
So with UL seemingly willing to spend more right now and the overall atmosphere being far less straining, I am going to say Louisville is the winner in an upset.
Even if the salaries were even I would say being at UL would be better than PSU from the standpoint of less stress, more job security, and not always having the child rape shite hanging over the program.

That's like asking what's the better job in 2014 NC State or Florida?
Posted on 1/6/14 at 12:20 pm to Sevendust912
If you take the PSU job but are hounded by the Paterno way and given 2 years of hell, it's not worth it. Louisville can be a stepping stone ask Strong.

You said what is the better job and then admitted Louisville is a stepping stone. Penn State is a destination job.
They already ran off one coach because of the Paterno nonsense, I doubt they do it again.
Penn State is the premier coaching job in the Northeast, with a good talent base in PA, but also able to get the best from NJ, MD, VA because the Terps, Rutgers, and UVA all suck. Louisville is a commuter school that cares about basketball first, football second.

is that why Bill O'Brien left after two years?

a commuter school that cared so little for football it made Strong what would be the highest paid coach in the ACC and top 10 overall. $3.7 million for a HC shows major commitment.

He went to the NFL. Saban, Harbaugh, and Spurrier all left their schools for the NFL and LSU, Stanford, and Florida aren't stepping stones. Come back to me when someone leaves PSU for another college job.

penn state and it isnt even close
Posted on 1/6/14 at 12:49 pm to oleyeller
all things being equal, Penn State by far. But with the sanctions and the Paterno family factions, will someone want to assume the headache? Louisville is no where close to PSU in prestige but I would think less headaches.
