I seriously question Gerald's decision to go to a team like Florida, that is on a downward spiral. They don't have an offense, they're losing recruits left and right, their coach is on as hot a seat as you can get, plus their injured quarterback may come back next year, yet he wasn't that good in the first place. Things do not look good, especially with the rise of Florida State taking all the top Florida recruits. I don't know who is guiding Gerald, or if he is simply, as some here say, trying to get away from Louisiana or his family, or if his brother Landin is really trying to steer him away from a rival, but he is potentially making a multi-million dollar mistake.

How do you not go to a state school that plays and contends year in and year out for championships? Hell, how do you not go to a school that had won 2 championships in a row? How do you end up choosing a school that had a losing record this year??

Somebody needs to get through GW's head that he is making a big mistake. I'm not saying this as an LSU fan, but as a person who hopes the best for these athletes. I know I made many many bone-headed mistakes at his age in my life that I regret, I just hope he doesn't go through with his decision.

If indeed the LC bashing had hand in this, then he was never ours to begin with. If he led on FW and the LSU staff, then we got owned by a 17 year old.

Everyone assumes since FW has this bond with NOLA players (godfather, uncle, close friend, etc.) he can deliver. That puts LSU in a precarious position of trying not to "offend" the players family/friend by offering other players, most likely from OOS.

FW has done great things for LSU, but for what he is paid, just being a relative/friend in NOLA isn't cutting it. The Fence can be a blessing and a curse at the same time. This year, given the huge state talent, probably a curse.

I know a lot of these kids talk about being a man. Being a man means doing what you want. Not what your mom wants, or brother wants, or friends want. Get all the facts, and make a decision yourself. Don't be a pawn to anyone else. If that means LSU, great, if not, that's OK too. Then we just have to do a better job at selling the program.

Still want GW, though.

You may think you have the kids interest, but you still saying that as an LSU fan. Pro scouts do not care if your college team won the NC, they do not care if your team had a losing record, they do not care how many guys from your school where drafted in the past. All they care about is if you can play. Look at if from a pro scouts point of view. Its a highly competitive industry, they are 1 bad draft away from losing their highly paid jobs. They have every incentive to turn over every stone to find the best players. "Bad" or "lesser" coaching doesn't mean no coaching. The NFL has the best coaches in the world, they will teach anything they think is missing from a guys game. Lots of guys have had coaching changes and losing seasons and been draft highly.

A year ago people on here were saying Greg Robinson made a mistake and must regret going to Auburn, I wonder if they still fell that way. And them going to the BCS CG is an extreme. If you think WM gets canned and that Florida can't bring in a guy that wins 8-10 games you are kidding yourself.
