Only if you are marrying a selfish count. I got all sorts of input into how OUR day was planned.

My wife danced with her dad, and I danced with my mom during the same song.

Yall could do a fun upbeat song where you kinda swing dance.

My stepdad and I danced to Hey Ya by Outkast, so it was just a lot of silly dancing

Not really. I just didn't care about the details of the wedding all that much and realized it was much more important for her. I was honestly just happy to be marrying her.

If she dances with her dad, you're pretty much obligated to take mom for a twirl.

This. I picked out a song to dance to with my dad and he picked out one to dance with his mom.

Course....while I was dancing with my dad someone told him to go ahead and dance with his mom and he just went with it.

Why not dance with your mom? Seriously how insecure is this board that you can't give the woman that gave you life one dance recognizing her at your wedding?

That's a little different than the day not being about you no matter what.

This is funny. As if you're having to twerk with your mom.

I was thrilled to not be asked to have input. I picked the suits, the groom's cake, and our first song. Then said "take it from there, honey".

My mom didn't show up to my wedding. So get it in while you can. You may regret it one day.

if you don't dance with her, she'll think your wife is behind it. and then she will hate your wife. then it will cause tension in your marriage. then divorce. then well you know the rest....

This. Could have made my life a lot easier if I just didn't care from the beginning.

Also, you can do whatever you want. I danced with my mom. I don't see why that would be a big deal, but whatever floats your boat. I know my wife chose not to throw the bouquet.

What is the big deal about dancing with your mom? I've danced with my mom at family weddings. I assume you are under 25.

I didn't dance with my mother, I don't think. We did father/daughter, and first dance as a couple, but I don't believe there were any others.

I like your wife, she made you FEEL like you were a part things. Smart girl.
