We have 19 commitments, and expect to sign 25, so we have six open spots.

For the most part, these are the names that you will see as the days count down.

DB Adoree' Jackson
WR Malachi Dupre
DE Lorenzo Carter
LB Kenny Young
OT Derrick Kelly
DT Travonte Valentine
WR Emanuel Porter
DE Malik McDowell
DT Trey Lealaimatafao

And looks like LSU is making a very late push for DE Sione Teuhema, a Texas commit and someone who had a lot of interest in LSU early in the recruiting cycle but who committed to Texas due to distance. As of Monday evening, even Orange Bloods is posting that the two brothers, one a '15 prospect, are LSU bound.

Sunday News
Looks like Derrick Kelly Jr has made his decision, and things are trending towards the Florida Gators.

Monday News
News appears to be leaking from both the UGA and UF staffs that Lorenzo Carter has informed both he will be signing with UGA on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, Breeland Speaks has decided to "settle" with Ole Miss and doesn't appear to be considering the Tigers any longer.
Melvin Hollard Jr, a board favorite, doesn't seem to be a priority to the staff, and has committed to Minnesota. WR Rushing is also no longer being considered.
Damien Prince has chosen Penn St, not LSU, for his final official visit.
Bailey Granier may get yet another look but it appears LSU is not going to extend an offer, and he is back with Vandy as a commit.

LINK to most recent visitor weekend

Also an important note, there is still an outside shot at decommitments and/or grade problems that could keep current commitments from making it into this class. Most agree that the visits by Godchaux, Williams, and Clark are at least something to keep an eye on, even though they have repeated that they are solid to LSU.

Official Recruit Announcement Times
As these become available, please post in the thread so I can update

8am - Solomon Thomas - ESPNU
9:30am - Malachi Dupre - ESPNU
9:30am - Kenny Young - ESPNU
9:30am - Travonte Valentine - Not Televised
1:10pm - Adoree Jackson - ESPNU
2:00pm - Lorenzo Carter - ESPNU

This has got to light a fire under the staff (assuming if the rumors are true that these kids were all LSU I the past few weeks and even this morning), they have got to make some massive moves

You should add Hootie Jones to the list now, IMO. After Brown bolted for Alabama I can't see any way that we don't end up going hard after Hootie

My ideal six would be:
OLB Kenny Young
OLB/SS Hootie Jones
CB/WR Adoreé Jackson
WDE Lorenzo Carter
DT Travonte Valentine
OT Derrick Kelly

And then a lineman (your choice) for the 7th.

Kenny Young needs full court press.

The UA Game is behind us. Lets just assume those commitments stick.

We have 18 commitments, and expect to sign 25, so we have seven open spots.

We aren't expected to get a commitment during the Army AA Game, but a few prospects that LSU is interested in are playing and may tip their hand on where they end up on signing day. These two prospects will likely get a lot of attention from LSU as soon as the dead period ends, and they will be playing the Army AA Game on Saturday.
DE Malik McDowell
DT Travonte Valentine
DE Solomon Thomas

The rest of the recruits are Signing Day decisions, and these are the names you are likely to see the most in the coming weeks
DB Adoree' Jackson
WR Malachi Dupre
DE Lorenzo Carter
LB Dwight Williams
LB Kenny Young
OT Derrick Kelly
DT Breeland Speaks
OT Rodriguez

Now, there is very little chance that we sign all the names you see here, so who knows who else the staff reaches out to in order to fill the remaining holes in this class. Just for kicks, this is how I personally rate the remaining prospects, the likelihood they end up here and the importance of position.

WR Dupre
DT Valentine
DT Speaks
DE Carter
DE McDowell
DB Jackson (Much higher priority, just not convinced he comes here)
LB Kenny Young
OT Kelly/Rodriguez
LB Williams
DE Thomas

Great post.

We got two of the three most important recruits today in LF and Adams. Losing Willis hurts a ton, but I refuse to beat a dead horse.

Valentine can be sold on immediate playing time and literally no one but a couple redshirt freshmen to stand in his way. Assuming Dural starts, he is competing with a couple RS FR, a JUCO SR that didn't play in his first year and whoever else is in this class (probably Quinn) for the starting WR spot (not mop up or 4th on the depth chart). I don't know what other sales point can be stronger for guys of this caliber. Big time program with immediate playing time is the magic sauce.

Kenny Young looks terrific, so I hope we land him.

Hootie can't be happy about Brown going to Bama, but he has to feel spurned by the LSU coaches. I wouldn't expect him to flip because of this.

Jackson is a long shot, but of course would be a welcomed surprise.

I honestly need to do some evaluations on the other guys because I just haven't followed recruiting as closely as I once did.

Again, solid post RAT.

Very well done, RA. There is still a lot of talent to go after. I still think we could flip Willis too.

I saw Malachi Dupre at the Alerio Center in Westwego yesterday wearing an LSU football jacket.

Frank Iheanacho (6-7, 210) of Westside High in Houston committed to Texas A&M during the Army All-American Bowl on Saturday. But immediately after the announcement, I received a call from a close source who said Iheanacho's pledge is nowhere close to a done deal for the Aggies. In fact, had the Tigers had a little more time, Iheanacho would've declared for LSU on Saturday.

Look for Iheanacho's decommitment down the road, with a nod to LSU highly likely. The announcement he made Saturday was to appease the U.S. Army All-American Bowl folks and honor his word that he would declare during the game. His mind is far from made up, sources said. LSU is fully aware of the situation and won't stop recruiting Iheanacho.
