I don't know, man. They never explained the 'powers' or the trolls. The parents keep them locked up, never to even talk? The queen runs away and wants to become a hermit in an ice castle?

Although predictable, the prince turning into the bad guy was a twist, but his plot to take over was developed awfully quick in his head. He friended her, fell in 'love', and then decided when she left to try and take over?

I know its a kids movie, but this one seemed like it was thrown together without much effort.

ETA: Sorry, edited title for spoilers after I posted this

Trolls being magical? Not much of a stretch.

After what happened with her sister, I think even she knew the best option was to stay away from anyone she cared about to keep from harming anyone again. And I gather from everyone's response when she let her powers slip at the party, it wasn't going to be an easy thing to explain away once word got out.

Where she can free from people hunting her down and doesn't have to hold her powers back. What's the problem?

Is much of the "magic" ever really explained in Disney films? And they don't explain why the trolls are magical/powerful, but it would seem like they wouldn't need to...but they did show that they were: in the beginning when the parents had to take her to the trolls because of the accident. We saw them heal her then.

There was like a three minute song about that.

Why does that need to be explained? Just go with midiclorians as your answer.

It's implied that they talk some, they just grew distant from one another.

Pretty clear you missed not only the point of her character, but the point of the entire film. She was basically trained from a child to shut out everyone and everything. Being a hermit in a ice castle comes pretty natural to her. Once she overcomes this and opens her heart to others, then the winter ends.

The guy was there to marry the Queen, but saw that she was some shut out who was incredibly cold, so fat chance he gets her. However the second in line for the throne is completely irrationally into him, so he makes lemonade out of lemons and then plans to murder off the Queen at some point when he marries the younger sister. I don't see why this would be too hard to come up with on the fly when those are your motives.
