I just beat it. Pretty fun game and I felt like I was playing LttP at times. I haven't played any titles from gamecube forward until this one. I enjoyed the game. Not sure I'll replay, but I'll finish some of the side quests.

Beat it a few days ago. I've beaten LTTP, but I didn't grow up with it or even play it til about 2 years ago, so there's no nostalgia for me. That belongs to the N64 games and maybe Links Awakening.
I hear people say how great LTTP is, and I know I'm in the minority, but I didn't think it was as great as it was billed to be. Fun, no doubt, but for a game that specifically trims the fat and provides nearly all of the experience inside dungeons, I felt like the dungeons should have been better. I'm sure they were top notch when they came out, but they have been surpassed, which is why nostalgia weighs so heavily on people's opinion of that game I think.
Link Between Worlds, to me, feels like what people claim LTTP is. Almost always in a dungeon, very open exploration, little story to get in the way of the action, etc. The overworld is identical, and the idea of LBW obviously is a tribute to LTTP. But other than that, this game stands on its own. Puzzles are more creative than ever and the dungeon design here may be the best in the series.
Bottom line: it's my favorite "top down" (since you can't really call it 2D) Zelda by far. I'm partial to the 3D entries, with the exception of Twilight Princess, but this is definitely one you don't want to miss.

New Zelda is great. I beat it the other day. You should also check out Mario 3d land and fire emblem.
