It really is great. Go see it! Funnest and funniest movie of the year. All-star cast performs at all-star level. David O. Russell is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors.

so it yesterday and really enjoyed it. Bale Cooper and JLaw were awesome, Amy Adams just cant compete with that star power though

I thought it was excellent from start to finish
Christian Bale was awesome as usual
Plus some great cameos, was cool to see Richard
Harrow with a full face for once

Just got out of it. Great performances all around, and I think that Russell will yet again get actors nominated in all 4 categories, a hell of an achievement if he pulls it off and has definitely become a director every actor will want to work with.
The plot is unpredictable too. Whenever I thought I knew the direction that the plot was headed, there's a new turn that I didn't expect. I'm going to keep this spoiler free, but go see it.
4 stars out of 4

And I feel like that performance from Lawrence was too similar to Silver Linings Playbook to warrant another Oscar.

it was good, but not great
there were scenes, as they stand on their own, that were fantastic, and there were many of them.....but as an entire body of work, it was disjointed, and the story didnt flow very well
the performances were amazing, and it was shot really well....on top of which were some hilarious moments (esp the scene where Lawrence wanted to be thanked for driving him to be inspired to hatch a plan ), but something was lost on the editing room floor...it started and stopped too many times
this was not a case of "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts"....but just the oppisite

I'm gonna see it this afternoon.

The pacing in the first half was really slow but when it picked up, it was really good. As everyone has said the movie is carried by the performances, as with most DOR movies. The plot and plot twists themselves were pretty by the book IMHO. It is a lot funnier than I was expecting.
Jennifer Lawrence did steal all the scenes she was in, but I actually thought Amy Adams did a better acting job in her role. Lawrence's character was a little too hammy and over the top but it really worked in this movie because of the style of the movie and they didn't overexpose her character. It was some kind of amalgamation of Sharon Stone from Casino and Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny.
Overall I really liked it cause the actors really knocked it out of the park and because the movie didn't take itself too seriously when it could have. It was like Goodfellas meets Ocean's 11.

I disagree with those who think Amy Adams stole the show. Her accent very inconsistent. In some scenes I honestly couldn't tell what she was trying to do.
Very good movie. Solid 8-8.5 out of ten. I'm not usually a huge Bradley Cooper fan, but I thought this was among his best performances.

His little impersonation of Louie CK on the couch was fricking hilarious

quote:Maybe that was on purpose, considering her character?. . . I don't think she stole the show, but I also don't think she was overshadowed by the other performances either.
Her accent very inconsistent.

I think Amy Adams did an incredible job, especially since anything I know her in is romantic comedy type crap.
That said, I do agree about the accent.
MAYBE SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had no idea her accent around everyone (even involved people like Cooper) was supposed to be British.
