I thought about it this morning.

The three guards really do seem to be figuring it out now. Jrue is coming into his own. Gordon, for the most part, is playing very well. And 'Reke is night and day from the first few games of his season (but his ankle needs to stay solid), and can get to the rim and play defense. I really like the guy.

Anderson is even better than I had hoped. Scoring big time. Plus more rebounding than expected and even defense near the rim.

Smiht performing well, even though too much is being asked of him, if you really think about it. Aminu is playing defense and rebounding.

To use the cliche', it seems they're "gelling" and learning to play together.

And then we have AD coming back in a couple of three weeks (it's not going to be a full six).

This team is a couple of pieces away from being a true contender for the finals, but they look like they have the makings of a solid young team. I'm optimistic.

Agreed and I think we really do have a chance at making the playoffs this year. We're right outside looking in but we have a tough stretch coming up. I'll be ecstatic with winning 3 of the 5 road games.

It is becoming clear thar AFA cant be a 3 on offense with 2 bigs both not named Ryno; HOWEVER, it is also becoming clear given the right mix (specifically being on the floor with Ryno) AFA can become a great weapon for this squad.

His rebounding, defense, and ability to finish near the rim are really good (he basically is a poor mans AD). Like people have been saying, put AFA in the film room with tape of Rodman and u will have a good end product IMO.

and this.

Not winning a title, perhaps not even making the playoffs. But there are signs of life, which couldn't be said the last 2 years. Let's enjoy the ride.

You mean "jelling"... unless you meant they are literally turning to goo.

Team is playing much better. Last year Ryno started off strong and seemed to fade later in year because so much was asked of him early. Hopefully this year with it being spread so much more he can keep this up all year with out all the burden. The trade for Ryno was great from the start but every year it's looking like a raping of orlando

I think we're FAR away from a finals at this point, but heading in that direction at least.

We just can't hang with SA/OKC right now, I don't care how well we play.

They're moderately entertaining to watch, which is really all that matters to me

They are never going to do much playoff-wise with Smith starting at center and guys like Austin Rivers and Ammundson getting important minutes off the bench every game

But they are fun to watch every night, so I'm pretty much alright with that. You can only expect so much from a Dell/Monty led organization without going crazy expecting too much.

Jrue has figured it out and to me that's key, he runs the show for the most part and is an all star caliber player. This team has a lot of guys that can create their own shot or create for others, I believe they'll be a playoff caliber squad once AD returns to the lineup.

I like your optimism about our team. I see them exactly the same way. I feel like we are one piece, maybe two pieces away from a deep playoff/championship team.
