Not that it matters, but the halftime score of the Winnfield/Curtis title game in 2011 was 7-3

Gonna be a great game between Many and Kinder.
If not for the split one of them would not be
there. And these same 2 teams could be there
again next year.

Congrats on your participation ribbon.

I don't follow LA HS football religiously, but I do know that Ascension Christian, False River and East Iberville all made the playoffs...they had a combined one (ONE!) win on the season.

That's beyond stupid.

So far its 3-1 in blowouts in the state championship. But the split is working!

Mangham-Haynesville was really closer than the score showed.

The OP is pretty much correct.

It looks like the playoff split is going to stay intact with a few little tweaks.

Some are saying the privates will split off and form their own league.

Go ahead. Have fun finding a 10 game season.
And if they do find enough teams to play a 10 game season, its 3,4, maybe 5 hours drives, just ONE way. And thats going to be 5-6 games a season.

Don't forget baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball...
See above for the scheduling problems magnified.

BTW, do you actually think the powerful Catholic schools of NOLA and BR really want to allow certain other private schools into their league?

An arguement I read is that its watering down the competion. Well answer me this then.

Why were there 5 classifications in football?
Why are there classes B & C as well?

Wasn't these classes formed to create more 'parity' between the schools?

Why does college atheletics have DI, DII, DIII?

I'm not.

I wish nothing but ill-will on Griffin and her unresearched, unsupported, selfish proposal. I would be embarrassed to be associated with her.

KG5989, Why not just have 1 division? That way there are no asterisks for any class previous to the split. 1 true champion.

Its watered down, but it puts more communities in the Dome and thats good for civic pride and the NOLA economy. Its here to stay.

Just wait until the private schools threaten to break away from the LHSAA

What exactly does this supposed to mean?

Do you honestly believe any public schools will give a damn?

Actually, most the urban public schools in South LA will considering they make a lot of money off games and tournaments.

And how will the private schools in N La even have a full schedule? For all of its sports?

You guys have to get past HS sports only existing in NOLA and BR. Thats why the split was 2-1. Most teams are located outside your area of concern

Sweet irony.

Let's draft an emotional proposal not grounded in substance and hurt thousands of kids so we, North rural schools have an easier road to winning state championships.

And then let's label those opposing it of being selfish.
