Came pretty close to going to AU so I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility. Timing is the problem.

THIS. I'd almost be willing to put the interim tag on CKS, pay him very handsomely, and let him coach next season with the understanding that he is coaching for the job full time and that the job is basically open. Then put the full court press on Fisher considering the odds favor him being unlikely to be playing in the national title game two years in a row.
