Last time I checked, Les was still the coach. Forget the offense, very little change. I just hope we can find some defense! Jennings will be a great QB before leaving LSU.

Just another commonly accepted myth.

OC? Cam Cameron?
Does he have a grasp of read option?
As a "QB guru" I would doubt it.

{That offense requires quick decisions, execution, and discipline. None of which are hallmarks of Les Ball.}
FAIL!! There's a difference betweening runnining it and teaching it, I'm pretty sure you can be deliberate and take your time when teaching it. And you don't find teams ranked in the top ten year after year that lack execution and discipline.

Trae will go pro and DC's will have a summer to pore over film. Malzahn's offense will not be as successful next year.

The statement was about miles. It's a fact that he's had variety in his offenses over the years, with varying success. He's dabbled in read option with some personnel at times. He's tried lots of wr screens and short passes. He's tried very run oriented with only low risk passing. He's had balanced pro offenses with intermediate to deep passing based off play action. He's had shotgun-predominant offenses with 3 or 4 wide.
It's very doubtful he'll change to an auburn system completely, but there will be efforts in practice and probably some in games to see if there are packages/personnel that can give a read option look now and then.
It all depends on personnel and coordinators on the team at the time. With the wr's and rb's coming in, expect balance.

The gimmick of the month will work for a while, but over the long run, the balanced attack will succeed. The offseason will be dedicated to stopping Malzahn and his harry high school bullshite will be figured out by next August.

Did anyone see the video that Malzahn produced when they beat Saban before? It was "How to beat Saban." He thinks he has his number. Maybe ....he does. If so, Saban better jump tracks to Texas!!

Auburn isn't going undefeated next year lol

Why possibly would you people not be in favor of it?
Because it's a one-dimensional offense that any good defense can shut down ... basic assignment football. How many teams in the top-20 run the triple option? Ever think maybe there's a reason for that?

If Auburn was 3-3 in one possession games, or 2-2 in one score games where they trailed with less than 2 minutes left, no one would care (I think .500 in those types of games is reasonable, especially considering that their offense isn't good at passing and their defense isn't very good).
Instead they went a ridiculous 6-0 and 4-0 in those games, and now everyone is going retarded about their offense.
Auburn's last 4 recruiting class (on Rivals) have been ranked:
2010 4 (LSU was 6)
2011 7 (LSU was 6)
2012 10 (LSU was 18)
2013 8 (LSU was 6)
So basically, the talent levels should be about the same as LSU.
There is no excuse for them going 0-8 in the SEC last year.
This season, against nearly identical schedules, Auburn had 5 games where they trailed with 2 minutes left while LSU had 4. Auburn and LSU each had one game where the they lost by double digits.
LSU had 3 double digit wins against BCS teams that finished .500 or better; Auburn had zero until yesterday.
Oh, and also LSU beat Auburn easily.
So I think, at least for the moment, we should hold off on re-vamping our entire offense to imitate theirs.

Auburn doesn't run the triple option. They aren't fricking Navy. They run a number of different option looks along with straightforward between the tackles run plays, play action passing, and just about everything else.
It's really stupid that people thing that reading a defender out of a play is a gimmick. It's not the wildcat. The Auburn offense is based on concepts that are in use all over the NCAA and get more popular in the NFL every year. That doesn't mean it's unstoppable, but last I checked neither is any other offensive scheme.
It also doesn't make much sense to insinuate that Malzahn will get "figured out" or whatever. He was Auburn's OC before. If you wanted to see tape of his offenses there was plenty out there already.
Fact is, he's a very good coach who got his players executing his system very well and it works. He certainly needed some luck to get to the NCG too, but that's true pretty much every year. As long as he's coaching there Auburn will be a good team and a threat to anyone else in the west.

It's deceptive vs gimmick, fake handoffs work real well and when u hide the ball, vs the HIGH PITCH that tells all defenses where to go.
Most of it is up the gut, just like we do as good as anyone already...if we faked a little more and hid the ball.... We would have similar already
LSU is better, we can throw too.....

I guess a better question would be if lsu will incorporate some TriOpt
Jennings isn't an option QB.
LSU isn't an option team.
They can dabble in some read plays, but anything else will likely turn out like 2010.
It's nuts to incorporate "some" into your playsheet, since it takes so much practice time to be efficient.

most things I've read is that zone-read is already fading in the NFL and they are turning their attention back to finding more prototypical QB's

I'll say this, I wish we ran more misdirection/counter runs rather than the HB Toss Dive
