Auburn isn't going undefeated next year lol
and neither will LSU
But at least AU has 2 perfect seasons over the last 10 years...

most things I've read is that zone-read is already fading in the NFL and they are turning their attention back to finding more prototypical QB's
Outside of the maybe the Eagles you're not going to see a team commit to the read option as their entire, or even the majority of their offense, but Seattle, San Francisco, Carolina, Washington, Oakland all have read option plays in their playbook and are pretty effective using them.
You still need a QB that can be an effective passer, but teams that have a QB who can do that and also run are definitely going to keep making use of them, and when good dual threat quarterbacks come out they will definitely get drafted.
Even if you don't have a running QB you can still use packaged plays to create an option for the QB to either hand off, or pull the ball out for a quick pass or screen depending on how the defense reacts after the snap.
Besides which, there is a lot more to Malzahn's offense than just "read option," which is just a really simplistic way to label something.

The "golden age" of LSU football is over.
We are about to begin a new cycle

Cool.
Wasn't hating on Auburn, it's just true.
People are freaking out about how good Auburn is going to be next year, especially if Nick Marshall improves.
But the thing is, they don't throw the ball enough for it to matter if he improves. All of his throws are short.
Auburn is one dimensional. Auburn will also be very good next year. But with their schedule, I seriously doubt they don't lose two games. I want to see what they do when they're down on the road.
LSU is lucky to have the easiest schedule of the Big Three in the West next year. Might be their turn to head to Atlanta.

On a related note, wouldn't it be kind of funny if they did run roughshod over everyone next year... until they played us again? We'd be the 'unstoppable offense' stopper, all over again
LSU did this to Jon football two years running.

I think many people think that due to the fact that all burn does not have many senior starters this season

AUs schedule will be much tougher in 2014 than it was this season...the reason all of it was so want to mention of the season is because they could be...as the season progressed no one could really stop them from running the ball, so why get away from it?
no one expected what AU did this year....but based on what they have achieved so far this season, and their youth, of course expectations for them will be pretty high next year

Perhaps they don't throw the ball BECAUSE he is not a very polished passer, and if he gets better (or they get a better QB) they will throw the ball more?
