astounding, right? SO effortless. that was one of my first reactions as well.

with regard to Tiger Stadium, after seeing what has happened here and watching upstarts like Mizzou and seeing Auburn come back to life and watching Alabama's fan base, it is fair to say that football is never as fun as when you are climbing the mountain. it's most fun of course when you know you are about to reach a summit, be it an SEC championship, BCS or even just pulling an huge upset. The momentum and energy of a team on the way up can't be matched. maybe it's the fact that you know better days are ahead. you know there will be a bigger payday down the line.

once you are on top, it's never the same. like getting that job with the bigger salary you think you can never spend...and which soon becomes your living wage and inevitably is not quite enough to do all the things you want. human nature i suppose.

Very well said. I was a little too young yo embrace the resurgence of LSU football, but I can only imagine how fun it was at the time. I can say I have been a loyal LSU basketball fan, so I suppose that will be my best shot at watching one of LSU's "Big 3" to return to glory. Baseball was too brief to count.
