Some to be considered if you looking at all players:
Bobby Ray Tell of Haynesville
Raymond Tate of Minden
Joe Ferguson of Woodlawn
Brock Berlin of Evangel
If you're talking one for coaches then the top two obvious choices are Red Franklin & J.T. Curtis. There's a list of names for the 2 remaining spots:
Don Shows
Vic Dalrymple
L.J. “Hoss” Garrett
Charlie Brown
James “Big Fuzzy” Brown

Keeping up with the goings on of 18 year old boys isn't a hobby of mine.
You probably still go to high school football games wearing your band letter jacket.

Cecil Collins if we are taking into consideration "on field" performance only. Best High School RB I've ever seen play in person.

Joe mcKnight. I hear he's going to be the next Reggie Bush.

And then... a blank. There have been other great players, of course, but on their level of prestige? Joe McKnight?

What they did after high school probably shouldn't be the only factor here. Marshall Faulk was not a huge recruit coming out of Carver, in fact, only one division 1 school offered him a spot to play on offense, San Diego St. Warrick Dunn wasn't even his team's starting tailback. He backed up Kevin Franklin for two years before starting only one year, at quarterback. I think you meant Travis Minor, not Kevin Minor, Travis was the Catholic High running back named USA Today's national offensive player of the year.
this is not true. I was a senior on the 90 state runner up team. starting nose guard. they split duties at tailback although warrick was a back up QB.

Didnt Cecil the Diesel have most of the the LA high school rushing records?
Brock Berlin has most of the passing records and Abram Booty has most of the recieving records. Cant say im in favor of putting any of their faces on the side of a mountain.

My brother was a sophomore on that 1990 team. I can find out the identity of another tigerdroppings poster for the first time ever...but I am too lazy to text my brother for the starting senior nose guard on that team.

Have to include everyone from Louisiana that won the Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year
Not...this award did not begin until '85 and there are many great players before then.

I think everyone can agree that Coach Roman Bates should be the first one on it.

Cecil the Diesel's records (at least rushing yards in a season) were recently broken by Cedric Skinner of Oberlin. Wanna talk about gaudy numbers? Somewhere around 3500 yards/40+ TDs in one season.
But he played 1A ball, against lots of inferior competition. Tainted records. Still though, the guy was a horse.
