Has there ever been such a lack of? There's not even hot names I can think of anymore. I wouldn't want to be a top program looking for a coach right now.

Who's the top potential name right now.. A guy like Deruyter?

How do you define "up and coming" coaches? Younger guys at mid major type programs?

Its become a media driven frenzy. One year goes by and a whole new hot list comes out, last years guys are forgotten.

For instance, Bill O'Brien was a hot name after last year, and he hasn't been mentioned at all for potential openings. IMO he is the next great hire for a big program.

I can't understand why Dantonio is not mentioned often for elite program jobs. He is probably too boring for most, but his style of play and tough defense would translate to any big time program.

If Miles ever left LSU, I'd want LSU to target Dantonio or O'Brien.

I don't follow the top assistants that much since most top programs want a guy with HC experience.

I know our QB coach GA Mangus was getting at least looked at from other schools a couple of years but he had a drunken episode with the cops that damaged his reputation for a bit, haven't heard much about it since.

He has been here 5 years and he is a great recruiter for us, I imagine he'll be a head coach sometime soon.

Gary Anderson at Wisconsin is a really good coach. In a few years, we'll be talking about him the same way people are talking about Art Briles or Gus Malzahn right now. If he ever decides to move on from Wisconsin, he's going to be a phenomenal hire for another program. Mark Dantonio is another coach that I've always liked but I think he's a Michigan State life and he's also getting up there in age.
