I've read that rumor too - not sure if it's true. He did, I believe, trim some serious fat from the Portland trailblazers organization.
I'm not sure if anyone knows yet how he'll be - I've read that he was hired because he will be the hatchet guy (and will make sure Mack retires) and I've also read that he was hired because he'll help Mack get one more year. Who knows (well, someone knows but not us peons).

honestly football coaches are above cowtowing to ADs any more. Patterson isn't going to tell Mack what to do. He doesn't have that power. He may have it over Barnes or Augie but not Mack. Hell, I know at A&M, Sumlin doesn't even report to Hyman. Completely outside that chain.
