If they had a blitz call its on welter, if there wasn't a blitz called its on Barrow! That's for the second one!
The first one is tricky from that angle... It looks like they're playing cover 3 and mills jumped the flat route! Could have been Cover 2 and RJ rolled down on PA hard! Honestly I feel like RJ was rolling down for run support becoming the alley flat level defender in cover 3 and mills blew the coverage!

Welter was responsible for the tight end

Thats on the safety and NOT the first time that has happened this year. Greg Bowser ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbow.gif)

IMHO, it looks like Loston is covering the WR man up as is the left side CB/S. The OLBs are lined up in a down position but I would say they have the two TE's if they release. The two MLBs would have responsibility for the RB and the QB.
If that is accurate I would say Barrow. If the closest MLB then Welter...

Then who has the wide out on that side. Loston is the only DB on that side. He cant cover them all. If they were playing zone then yes it was his man because the WR crossed the TE...
I respect a lot of what Bowser says but he is a old nose tackle. Ask Gordy, he was a safety.

if you watch closely, welter does this a lot.

welter's man was the rb. It's man under coverage. MLB takes the rb. 2 guys rushing on the edge there....if neither one of those guys is responsible, then it's the free safety. After watching it, it looks like the safety needed to identify it. Only one safety and blitzing an extra guy......good play call. TE slips out without even a bump from the dline. This appears to be on Jefferson. However in a cover 1, the safety usually sticks near the middle of the field. It's more of a good play call because of the little time to react in an aggressive scheme by the defense.

I watched the Tiger defense not cover the tight end for over 50 years. This is nothing new. It would be nice to have someone within 15 yards of him however. By the way, we're not the only team that doesn't cover the tight end.

Mills
If you are talking about the tight end it is welter

safety had 19, Welter had the RB, and Barrow should have had the tight end.

Typically Barrow would be right. He was matched up man to man though and stuck with his guy. The other option would have been to redirect that man to the safety and switch to the TE. That adjustment would need to be communicated and identified pre snap.

Thread Hijack: How was defensive pass interference not called on Landrys circus catch?
Because he didn't "move" the defender until after he touched the ball. Close call but you don't get the PI for simply touching someone. You get the PI for obstructing the defender from his travel path. He came over top but he didn't move the defender until after he touched the ball.
Nvm, I read it as offensive PI. The defender didn't get a PI bc he was between Landry and the ball. He didn't do anything that would have warranted a PI.

That Arky TE Henry will play on Sunday's for many years. I love everything about his game.

12 games into the year and still making the same mistakes from last year as well as this year. U would think someone would learn by now go watch a TE near the goaline on a pass play.
No matter whose fault it is, it all comes back to Chavis. If the defense doesn't improve dramatically next season, then we need to cut him loose.

Your must have a defect in Chromosone 23. Please don't breed and stay in Texas if you do. Our OL is what needs better coaching and possibly recruiting.
