It's been a blessed year so far for me. I've taken my first deer with a bow and now my first rack buck. I know he is a young deer and a lot of people would have let him walk, but I am proud of him still. He weighed 150 If I remember right. He came out at 4:45 stopped at 100 yards and he would never give me a broad side shot and was starting to act spooky so I decided I was comfortable with a neck shot. He put his head down And i shot and the 7 mag gave him a dirt nap he never even kicked. I was so pumped I immediately was texting and calling people. Now I plan on skull mounting him and will try to get a wall hanger the rest of the season.

Obviously I don't care about my identity.

Congrats!
The only mount I have is a 10 point with a small, but symmetrical basket rack. Some people said they wouldn't have had him mounted. Screw that. I'm proud of it.
That's a fine deer to be proud of.

Congrats!
I got a nice one over the weekend as well that i am doing a skull mount with. Its my first attempt so I hope it comes out all right.
I'll tell you right now, be careful with the nose bones down at the tip. They are fragile and will come off during boiling.

Dont ever worry about that - if you want to take the animal and are happy with it then go for it - individual preferences. My first buck was a spike and although that was 30 years ago I can still remember everything about that deer - weather, what i saw that day, the situation etc. Congratulations and great shot!

Very nice, congrats. I've never understood why people are so secretive of their identity on here anyhow. Refreshing to actually see a face in a pic.

I shot an 8pt Sat evening that only had around a 12in inside spread. He was 3 1/2 yrs old and we had seen him on camera. That was as good as he was going to get. Your deer looks pretty big in the body, so I see no problem shooting him.
