It's a Mike Sanders custom knife
I don't know much about these kinds of knives. What is the value of a knife like this? Is it a knife I should use, or should I put it up for display with my custom duck call? All I really use are pocket knives and filet knives, and an old hickory for cleaning ducks.
Any info would be appreciated just to know a little about what I have. I feel like it's a nice piece that can be an heirloom, being that it's the only one like it.

I like that a lot...

If it's one of a kind, then keep it for display.

That's what I figured. What would this style of knife be called?

A knife similar to that is on eBay from almost 500. I'm on my phone so can't link, but most of his knives seem to be at least a few hundred dollars

arizonacustomknives sells his blades. Some go up to $600.

I'd use it, but I'm a trashy bastard

Could be up to $500 bucks. I'd keep it and just look at and fondle it on occasion. Good to have stuff!

I'm no expert on knives, but it just looks like a collector's knife.

Wow, I had no idea. I definitely will just put it up and save it.

I like that drop point blade. It would do fine skinning deer even as short as it is.
I would use it.
I would use it.

I would use it but not abuse it. Don't use it to open tin cans...

I'd have to kill a deer first. Maybe I'll get to use it on my first deer

i would use it, not put it on display.
BUT, i would try to be careful with it for a while...
then i'd end up using it as a hammer/screwdriver when i got in a pinch. then i would be pissed off that i nicked it up. then i wouldn't be as careful with it. then it would join the other 100 knives with imperfections in my dresser drawer

Use it. A $500 knife isn't worth anything if it stays in a case all the time.

Great knives - we have 2 in the skinning shed, strictly used for skinning, they hold an incredible edge. Keep it clean, polish it up every year and it will look like the knife in your picture for a long time.

What do you polish it with?

I will ask this weekend, what ever my buddy uses keeps the handles in great condition, if I remember right his Sanders knives are about 20yrs old.

I'd use it and lose it 2 weeks. Story of my knife life
