Just found out because someone happened to post on facebook about it. I'm assuming the series will end with a wimper since I have seen zero advertising for it.

There will only be 5 episodes. I think it is set a few years down the road. I really like the show and I am glad we will get to see how everyone ends up.

yea its 5 episodes and i think a good chunk of the budget is coming from David Simon himself simply to wrap up his story. atleast i know it was discussed as possible when they were hammering out details.

im not shocked its lacking push - but i dont think he will mail it in either.

Not to flame the thread, but are they still doing character development? Seems like that is all the show was about. No plot lines at all.

I didn't catch the last season...what year are they in New Orleans. Any mention of the Saints' Super Bowl yet?

I just checked HBO's schedule and they replay Treme's last season all afternoon and early night with the new season starting about 11:00, that's late for me. New show repeats during the week several times. 5 new segments only. Love the show. The 9 years I was in B.R., my wife and I went to New Orleans at least once a month to eat and geaux out. Love Treme'.
