for this to happen Carolina has to lose to clemson and in the seccg, auburn get trounced by bama, mizzou lose to a&m, and we beat arky.

I can't see sugar taking us at 3 losses over a 2 loss Auburn team. Had we not lost to ole miss, we'd be a certain lock for the sugar bowl now imo.

Yeah the main thing is Auburn getting CRUSHED by Bama. Even still I cant make myself pull for bama in that game. Id rather take the Cotton than see bama go a third straight time. Heck the cotton, cap 1, gator outback or hell even the chick fil a bowl will be a better matchup. Not that Im deluding myself into wanting those more than the sugar but the sugar is gonna get stuck with UCF or NIU.....

1967 season finished 6-3-1, 3-2-1SEC and went to Sugar and beat Wyoming! Must have been down year, anyone remember circumstances?

Anything could happen in the next few weeks but highly unlikely this will happen.

Not with an, at worst 2-loss Auburn or a 2-loss Mizzou

Mizzu will have 3 losses (TAMU, Bama), SC will have 3 and Auburn will have another. LSU would be eligible and it all depends on what the Sugar Bowl wants.

The Sugar Bowl could pick LSU, but the SEC will have to find soft landing spots for the loser of the Iron Bowl, the loser of the SEC championship game, every team in the East, and then LSU will get the Music City Bowl. It is a tradition unlike any other, LSU gets underslotted because "we travel well."

If we get screwed yet again by the SEC I want Alleva fired. Last year was inexcusable when combined with bridge schedules TAMU thanksgiving night etc. Im not saying I expect the sugar, but we should not be in the peach, and be no lower than the gator (which is still too low IMO)

When we lose late theres never a landing spot for us, yet we cant let Georgia fall too far because they fought really hard

He must mean that LSU will be "in line" as a possible at-large selection because with a win Friday they'd meet the criteria of 9 wins and finishing in the top 14 of the BCS. But it's the back of the line.

Given the debacle of last year's sugar bowl in terms of sales of tickets, the committee is looking for a sure thing. When given the opportunity to take LSU, the committee pulls the trigger. Not saying it will happen, but the committee will lean LSU and if it can justify the pick, they very well may go off the board. Still a long shot though.

Last bowl projection I saw was from SB Nation, Nov 24th, they had LSU playing Nebraska in the Outback Bowl.

No way we're going to the Sugar Bowl.

Missouri wouldn't play Alabama for their third loss if they lose to A&M.

Exactly. Attendance for the Sugar Bowl has been awful the past couple years and because they're behind the Orange Bowl in the selection order this year, they'll get stuck with either the American Athletic champ (likely Central Florida) or the non-BCS qualifier (Northern Illinois or Fresno State). They'll definitely consider LSU for guaranteed good attendance, but it's a long shot.

Agreed. It should be stressed that LSU will have a shot to be selected should things fall right but it is still very unlikely. It isn't none but it is probably around a 10% chance which for a 3 loss team is a miracle.

The team was not adequately prepared by the head coach or the assistants. Results, not excuses. That's the problem so many of us have with Miles. Team preparation is weak too many times a year. Absolutely unexcuseable losing to that Black Bear team, particularly with them having so many starters injured.

This.
Because with UCF or Fresno/NIL, the Sugar Bowl is going to need a better draw than Auburn or Mizzou (not only a bad draw, but both will have lost its last game - to Bama, theoretically).
Question: If A&M goes off on Mizzou...say, something like 34-10... does the Sugar take 9-3 A&M over 9-3 LSU?
Could be, but after getting skulldrug by LSU, it looks like Cotton Bowl for JFF.
An A&M-Baylor matchup would be huge for Jerry's World.

Bama - BCS
LSU - Sugar (Ends season with two impressive victories/ would draw big in NOLA)
Mizzou - Cap One (Loser of SECCG)
Auburn - Outback (Good team; not a big draw; would be happy to be there after last season)
A&M - Cotton (Jerry's drooling over A&M-Baylor)
SC - Chicken (If FSU plays for the NC, it opens the door for Clemson to go Orange Bowl, making Duke the likely opponent).
Vandy, Georgia, Ole Miss and possibly Miss. St. follow.
