Heading to Asheville, NC for a long weekend. Heard good things but never been. Any recs for food, beer, etc are appreciated. Also, any recs on where to watch the LSU game Saturday would be great!
TIA
TIA

if your going to the biltmore, cedrics tavern was very good. Fried pickles were the best I've ever had.

I've never really eaten anything upscale there. Charlotte Street Pub has great burgers. As far as beer, Highland has a really nice tasting room with live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. Altamont Brewing is a hole in the wall on Patton Ave...really laid back and I enjoyed the few beers I've had there...they also keep some from other brewers on tap. Pisgah Brewing in Black Mountain makes my favorite APA in the world. You can probably find it in growlers or on tap at Barley's. If you want beer to take home, check Bruisin' Ales downtown.
ETA: Forgot what time of year it was. Do not leave Asheville without having drank your body weight in Highland Cold Mountain.

As far as beer goes...
Do not miss Wicked Weed Brewing... go downstairs to the tap room, they have 25 taps.
When the fiance' and I went we hit up all the breweries in the downtown area. Hi-Wire was one of my favorites after Wicked Weed. Also enjoyed Burial and Wedge brewing.
Asheville Brewing is also a pizza restaurant and Lexington Avenue Brewery is a brewpub so they might not be bad stops if you want food and beer.
We hit Green Man at the end of a day and didn't stay long, would go back though and give it a fair shake.
They all have tasting rooms, just check their websites for hours.

Also, has anyone done these Brews Cruises here before? I'm just thinking about transportation for all the beer I will be ingesting.. Thinking cabs if necessary, but figured a town like this has to have something better...

Haven't been, but heard really good things about the Brews Cruise. Probably worth a shot.

The Grove Park Inn is awesome.
Absolutely love that place, you will have some great views of the foliage this time of year.
One of my recs is there. Get the lobster cobb salad at Sunset Terrace.
The bistro at The Biltmore is great if you go to there one day.
Tupelo Honey Cafe is legit. Great place
Don't leave Asheville without going to Chocolate Fetish.
Sea salt caramels there are incredible.

Didn't do that when we were there. Highland Brewing, Wedge, and Altamont are a little farther out, but the rest are all in easy walking distance around downtown.
We took a bus into downtown one day and took a cab the others. It was cheap, but I don't know how far from the downtown area you are staying.
Enjoy!

I'll def give a review of Grove Park Inn once trip is over... Early impressions are great hotel with great history.. And didn't hurt that one of the restaurants is a sports bar too w great local beer and bourbons and the saints game was on!
I'm thinking ill try brews crews if I can today, then downtown breweries tomorrow that way can walk and check out places and find a place to watch the Tigers.
On a side note, restaurant last night - The Admiral - had some seriously amazing food... Would put the steak tartar and ribeye I had up against the best I've had previously. GF had scallops which were also awesome.
More to come...

I think Oskar Blues has a brewery near there in Brevard. That would be high on my list.
