Sounds very unlike a statement he'd make.

This guys stats are like a Roller Coaster. He has 4 Games with 0 TD's. He is averaging like 1 TD per Game. We are worried about this guy??? Call Sam Houston State and find out what they did!

Put in a third string linebacker. First play of the game have the LB take out Evan's knee caps. Problem solved.

Not sure if serious....
All I see is a WR that has 57 catches for 1263 yards and 12 TDs in 10 games. And is just about the hardest guy to match up with in the nation due to his size and leaping ability.

the problem with evans is jump balls and scramble plays. no need to bump at line of scrimmage. no need for underneath double coverage. we need rr over the top and we hope he just catches the short passes underneath.

That might be the only way to get Welter out of the game and end this love affair Chavis has with him.

Already been suggested, see the post that recommends having Welter target Evans at the helmet and concuss Evans. Then it would be a win/win situation Evans would be laid out and Welter would be kicked out. Neither player could hurt LSU!!!

Bump him on the line every single play, where ever he lines up, to throw off timing and routes.

This is about all you can do. If the corner misses or gets over powered though he's going to be open.

Evans can be marginalized if you put double coverage on him (outside of pure jump balls that is). The problem is A&M is almost always 4 or 5 wide so if you do that you put everyone else in single coverage and the other guys can burn you as well. It's a pick your poison situation and honestly the best option is to mix it up and try to confuse Manziel.

Another misnomer is that Manziel is better on the run than in the pocket, he is far more accurate and less likely to throw a pick from the pocket than he is on the run. He just makes all those crazy plays on the run and people assume that is where he is best.

Confusion is the best strategy defensively against A&M. It won't always work but you at least have a better chance at making some plays and getting a turnover. Trying to just "shut down" one element of the offense will just result in someone else going wild.
