So a guy asking a question about whether or not the defense gets back to dominance is shitting on the program and weak minded?

Seems like somebody interpreted something that wasn't explicitly stated or even inferred.

Unless we recruit tough players, no.

This is a soft defense. Soft players don't become "tough" over the course of one offseason.

If Anthony Johnson and Ego stay, which I think they should, we do have a chance to make that Florida jump from 2011-2012. Easley and Johnson are certainly comparable IMO.

Defense is soft, especially up the middle and with tackling and getting off of blocks. I recall a defensive player stating that the fall camp was far less physical than in recent years, presumably due to a lack of depth. It certainly showed this year. I think you must practice hard to play hard. Especially when the other team is taking it to you and being physical, you must have that mentality or you roll over like we did in 4th quarter against Bama, Georgia and Ole Miss.

It depends. If we get one or both Johnson and Ferguson back then yes. If we are starting over with freshly minted starters then no.

If Ferguson and Johnson were to return, they may be considered one of the best tandems LSU has had. It will also help that the DEs will be more experienced especially if Rasco returns.

This is very much an issue of starting experience.

We need at least Freak or Ego to return and I think we can definitely have a better defense next year. Who are we losing? Barrow and Loston - these guys did not perform this year. The 2013 class had a great group of defensive guys who hopefully we will be ready, combine that with a few from 2014 class. And we'll play weaker offenses with McCarron, Manziel and murray

Agree, but i honestly don't have a clue how this team will be next season.Just the fact we have a new QB makes me think will will have 3-4 losses, but i just don't know, so i'm gonna expect the worse and hope for the best.

Maybe Greg Gilmore will decide to not be a complete lardass and live up to his hype next season. That'd obviously be huge. I don't have faith in Brick developing any of our talent. If I'm not mistaken, didn't earl lane bring in Logan, Mingo, Montgomery, and brockers? The Bears didn't like him and neither did Mississippi State. But we should hire him because Chavis coached him and he was jobless at the time

If Chief would study carefully the system bama plays and and feeds the D Creatine before weight training and testosterone after lifting then we could pull even with them on D.

If we can develop some depth on the dl and upgrade the talent at MLB and Safety I say yes.

They won't even be 2010 or 2012 caliber. It will take longer than 1 offseason to fix this terrible defense.

You are mistaken. Haley's been here since 09. All those players are post 09.

I'm amazed at the lack of faith here. We've had lots of talented players leave for the NFL in the past two years. I think the D will be fine next year if we don't have any major departures on the DL.
