I knew him. Got toasted with him a couple times at Old River landing. When he was younger, him and one of my uncles fished together a lot.

The big question was how the hell he drove back to BR once he left Old River.

I always wondered about that. Some days he'd tie up his boat at Old River Landing, so drunk that he couldn't walk up to the store at the top of the ramp.

But he was always a gentleman. I never thought much of his articles in the Advocate, or his TV shows. But I liked him -- he always had fun wherever he went. He would have been a credit to this Board.
