The chance at a MNC is over. There is a finality for all teams that lose the second game of any season. That second loss pretty much eliminates you from contention.

Once that fact is digested, then the team and it's fans can get excited about other accomplishments.

Were not gonna win the west. Winning the west is step #1. Win the west and play in the SECCG. By not winning the west, we can't play for the SECCG, ergot, no sec title. Not winning the sec title keeps you out of the bcsnc. Unless, of course, you have the strongest sports network being controlled by multiple bama grads that fight for their success. So, with our 2 losses, we are pretty much done. The inevitable 8-4 will seal the deal. Not a nega, just a realist. Worst defense since '99 Dinardo.

You know what they are not overreacting. LSU fans are tired of these fricking games where the team is totaly fricking unprepared to play a game. Tired of them getting beat by some team they have no buisness losing to.

This loss should have never happened. It was a shitty loss. But, some people are band wagons. I'm still going to every home game the rest of the year.

My cousin told me today someone on his Facebook was selling the rest of his season tickets and parking pass. For $400. Dumb frick.

Also never said anything about quitting. But when your upside is hoping Auburn beats Bama, then things are getting pretty thin.

You have to forgive people for not understanding this. Reality is too much for some people to see. It is even more of a stretch for most people to think that just because you can be a realist doesn't mean that you still hope for the best.

Perhaps we are overreacting, considering what we lost to the draft lat year. But no, we are not going to any BCS games this year or any year soon. 8-4 this year with a mediocre bowl - perhaps one we might be able to actually win.

Win totals the last 13 years.

Seems "realist" on this site are mostly just pessimist who are complimentary of themselves.

Not sure the LSU fanbase ever really adjusted to being winners other than in a negative way. Maybe it's a defense mechanism.

The Ole Miss loss was a painful one for sure. We had no business losing that game and they were a number of reasons why.

But history has proven the Bama game and A&M game are both winnable.

Admittedly, it's hard for many to recognize that after a shocking loss.

This fanbase is quick to panic and decry the perpetual decline year after year. Perhaps one day a self fulfilling prophecy will allow these tormented souls to be at peace, but until then an 11 win season is still on the table and that is realistic, as well.

To be fair, perhaps I'm just an optimist disguised as a realist, but my perspective allows me the luxury of not quitting mid season as some of you have already done.

Doesn't matter if it's 3, 9, 19 or 100 points.

A loss is still an L in the L column.

That's almost as insane as thinking someone could possibly lose their last regular season game at home and still make it to the ship.

If thy team's name is BAMA, that would be what would happen. They'd lose and Saban would cry to the media and they'd get the votes to keep them at #1.

Like who? I'll give you Ole miss this year. Let's hear the rest.

And for the record, we lost games we shouldn't under Saban. So really it seems to be a continuous problem with our program. Not a certain coach.

Everyone on here is acting like the season is over.
We have 5 losses the last 2 years by a combined 19 points.

But what's most disheartening is that the last 4 of those 5 were won by the opponent scoring against LSU's defense on their final drive of the game in the waning seconds.
And had we won those, we may be defending national champs and ranked currently in the Top 3 at least.....

How many people had Auburn over A&M?

It was upset no doubt, but tons of people thought, with aTm's defense it was a real possibility.

Auburn beating Bama alone is a pipe dream. There's no way they beat Bama if they're not even good enough to beat UGA right now. I don't care if UGA gets Gurley back or not. LSU will not be in Atlanta for the SECCG, and the fans that think so are just setting themselves up for more disappointment.

Once again...over the years some want to ignore "how/why we lost"....
pure and simple it is lack of preparation by the coaches, lack of execution by the players (WHICH THE COACHES COULD HAVE REACTED TO DURING THE EARLY PART OF THE GAME) and they did not.

LSU pays top salaries, should expect top performances.

this is not the first time this staff has been lazy and totally out coached.

BTW, we are not going to the NC game..end of story.
a team w/ 2 losses is not going.
you still have AL, Mizz, Oregon, Fl St, Oh St, Stanford, would have to lose 2 ea.

Who cares how "thin" things get.

Win out.

An 11 win season is possible, whether this fan-base believe it likely or not.
Beating Bama is still possible.
Beating A&M is still possible.

Run the table and LSU is back in the top 10...maybe knocking on the door of the top 5.

Time will tell.
This season is not over.

I agree there is still hope but the realist in me says Alabama will curb stomp us. We have yet to stop the run or the pass and they can do both. Our offense has disappeared so I don't like our chances at all. Can we beat Bama? Absolutely. We could run the table, destroy every opponent in front of us and be back in the top 5 after winning the SECCG. But after losing to a depleted Ole Miss team I just don't see it happening.

Can we beat TAMU? Of course, their defense is worse than ours. But if our offense doesn't find itself then we will lose that game.

Arkansas? Flip a coin on that one.

Love my LSU Tigers but just don't think we are a championship team this year. Would love to be wrong and eat crow. It goes good with boudin and Tabasco.
