I know people got pissed when bane turned out to be a puppet, but at the very least he was a badass and kicked some arse. Why even go get a Ben Kingsley, build him up as a big bad, and then pull that? That's not a plot twist, it's just stupid.

I do remember thinking that they didn't do a great job of explaining what Extremis is. And I don't think they gave proper credence to AIM as an organization or villain. (I can see this coming up potentially in SHIELD though)

The thing that bothered me the most throughout the movie though is that the guy that played Aldrich Killian looked like a mildly retarded Brad Pitt and that kept distracting me.

I have no idea how the Mandarin is supposed to play out in the comics, but ya, it was just a tad bit disappointing when Ben Kingsley is fricking killin' it on screen creeping every one the frick out to only be some stoner.

Plus I think any Batman fan knew what was really going on and it didn't come right out nowhere. Bane is always hired help and villains like him rarely don't have someone they directly answer to. Plus Talia is one of Batman's all time great villains.

Whose bright idea was it to make the Mandarin an actor? I couldn't come up with a dumber plot twist if I tried. I could seriously whip up a better plot for the third Iron Man using the Mandarin in less than an hour. Could you imagine if they pulled the same actor bullshite with Joker, Venom, or Lex Luthor, only to go with some villain no one has heard of and is for the third straight time in a row the other rich guy who wants to take down Tony Stark? The Mandarin is typically a character who doesn't take orders, but gives them, and he and Guy Pierce fricking blew. Can they really not come up with anything better than that?
