Last time I went was before labor day, but the reds were everywhere. I tok reggio canal to bayou la chape, and fished all the broken marsh between reggio canal and bayou la chape. Sight casting with a paddle tail.

Supposed to be reds stacked up.... but that was last week and weekend. We are heading to bring shite back to the camp in reggio that we pulled out for the so called hurricane.... going to wet a line ourselves.

I went out today. My buddy did better than I did. He caught seven trout, one red, one bass, and a drum. I caught 2 bass and a trout. Oh, and a gator. He attacked my cork and before I could cut the line (and after a little bit of a fight) he let go. The fun part was when he popped his head up so close to my kayak that I could have petted him.
The reds are stacked up in the grass beds, but I could not get them to take anything I was throwing. I tried a spoon, a vudu shrimp under a cork, and a topwater (what I caught the bass on).
Good luck.
