Heard it on WBRZ, they used it some against Miss. State. Obviously I know it's a formation meant to stop the run.
What's your take on this? And who's the best extra d-lineman for that 5th spot?

Freak, Ego, and Q.Thomas would be the tackles most likely

If this removes Welter from the equation. I'm all for it.

I love me some 5-2 D!!

It's kinda like the Twin TE set I-form of the offense!

And I love me some I-Form!

I would have thought that the Chief would have gone to more of a dime with blitzing D backs and N backs before just adding another big guy on the line. Maybe they just want to see more push I( guess.

I thought the consensus was that this was the worst D-Line in the last 15 years so why are we putting more Dlineman out there?

If they run a 5-2 and the DE's allow anyone to get outside then that coach needs to be fired. The whole defense is about containment. Unfortunately, you need two stud LB's to plug holes and make sure tackles.

Somebody get Jerry Claiborne on the phone and resurrect the wide tackle six!

As someone said their are minimal differences between the 3-4 and 5-2...more semantics than anything.

The one thing I said after the UGA game that I think still applies....if you're rushing 4 and playing coverage and the guys are still getting open, then start bringing the house and only play 4-5 in coverage.

Means DBS dont have to cover as long or think as much. Even if you don't get the sack you'll force rushed throws that result in incompletions. Your gonna get burned sometimes....but we were getting burned playing coverage

Put Beckwith at one of the end spots and he could also drop back and cover as a LB if necessary

Actually we went with a 5-1 with allen playing inside wit ego and freak. Kwon was the lone backer against aub and state. Dont recall seeing it against uf. Saw more 3-3-5. Sending eugene on the blitzes.

I didnt rewatch the uga game cus i dont like rewatching us lose. Seems like weve been experimenting a lot. But the guys came to play. UF is talented, but their style is to beat you on defense and control the clock. Hopefully they will continue to get better so we can slow down some of the os weve struggled against. Like Ole Miss.
