The question I have is does a 12-1 LSU (who won the conference championship game) leap over a 12-0 Ohio State who did not play a conference championship game.

I believe this is what happened when we lept over USC in 2003. But back then it was more computer and less human factor and has since been changed to more human poll factor and less computer factor.

IMO-- we would need to destroy Georgia in the conf championship game to make a statement that would influence the human polls enough.

USC had a loss that year. They weren't undefeated.

I'm 99% sure that an undefeated power conference team has never been left out of the BCSCG in favor of a 1-loss team.

Big 10 has a championship game now, so LSU won't leapfrog OSU if they are undefeated.

Common misconception about 2003 was that WE weren't the team in 'question.' LSU was ranked #2 in both polls and #2 in 6/7 computers. The team that wasn't suppose to be there was Oklahoma, who lost in the Big12 title game badly, but got in due to having a tougher schedule
