Can I get a ruling?

Dude i am playing this week has Gronkowsi and Chandler (Buf TE). Chandler was on his bench during the Thursday night game. Friday I ask him who he is planning to drop since Gronk won't be playing. He says that he will drop Chandler and add a new TE.
I mention that I believe Chandler is locked and can't be dropped this week in place of another player. Rtsports, the website that we use allowed him to make the drop, but in my ESPN and yahoo leagues I checked and it wouldn't let me drop Willis McGahee.
My thought is if a player has played this week, he cannot be replaced until the following week. The other owner will just have to choose between one of his other bench players to drop in order to add a replacement TE.
Opinion?

RTsports lets you drop him, i dont see the problem. He was on the bench.

Player should be locked.....but if your site allows it can you really blame him?

I get it. We have been playing for years and our rule book is a little vague to say the least. I spoke to the commish and he sided with me and said there was a setting that he should have clicked to prevent this but he didn't. He went back and changed it and added the player back to his roster.
I just wanted input from the wise fantasy board.

That's more of a bitch move than the guy legally dropping a player

If the league settings allow him to drop him, then no problem.
As a comish I don't have dumb rules like that.

Maybe so. We play in two leagues on rtsports. One auction dynasty, one regular draft. The setting was correct in the auction, but not in the draft.
Commish based the ruling on conversations with other managers in the league as well as the intent of the rules. Slippery slope for the commish and ultimately a frick up on his part could affect the outcome of the game.
