Anyone catch them air the episode on E60?
They replayed most of the same but they had one lil clip they showed when gleason interviewed the band as a whole.
Gleason's robotic voice made a statement like: "It's been 5 years since your last album.......... what the frick?".
They all started to laugh, very good Gleason!

I rewatched it yesterday so I could cry with some privacy. "If the doctors are right..." gets me every time

That segment hits way too close to home. Definitely brought plenty of tears.

FIFY. If you don't tear up watching the Gleason specials, you don't have a heart.

All I could think about watching this was. "Wow, and I complain/get down on myself so often about the most trivial shite." I feel like such an arse because I cannot even grasp how difficult Steve, his wife, and River's lives are/will be. Makes me want to be a better man. I will watch any and every segment on Gleason. I donate to Team Gleason and regularly rock NO White Flags / Defend shirts in hopes of spreading awareness.

its tough but its easy to recognize the awesomeness of Steve. An inspiration as a person, as a father, as an ambassador of how one should fight through life.

I hate to get all deep, but I've had a pretty rough day.
This segment makes me really look forward to someday having a kid of my own and doing everything I can for it, being the best father I can be. Growing up without a father, or any male figure in your life, is tough as shite. I at least had my father around until 8th grade, but Vedder's response to Steve's question hits me hard. I wish I had my father around, to be proud of me, and to help me grow as a man. Seeing my little sister, who's about to turn 12, grow up not knowing him at all breaks my heart just about every day also. This really sheds light onto how special of a man Steve is, going out of his way to make sure his child will have the guidance of a father, even if it's only in video form.

i can relate in some ways. granted i was 24 when my dad passed kind of unexpected and unprepared. It kills me that my kids i now have will never have known him. You need to step up and be that man for your sister if you haven't already.

Pearl Jam is awesome.
Black is one of my favorite songs ever, any band.
Alive is another.

Amazing segment. Steve Gleason is the man and I hope God blesses him and watches over his family. And Pearl Jam is one of the greatest bands of all time.
