He's only doing it until he retires. I think it's cool. Its his name. He's dropping one letter for a few years.

The flag on Whitner on the first play of the Colts game in week 3 was an utter travesty.
The one last week on Givens was iffy but I suppose more defensible -- that he was fined 21,000 for it is crazy, though. If Givens hadn't TURNED into the hit, while in mid-air, he wouldn't have gotten clocked in the face. At that point, it's entirely on the receiver. Whitner had already committed to the hit and certainly wasn't aiming at the head:

Back in the day, incompletion-forcing hits in the endzone were exactly what you wanted from your safeties. No wonder all these basketball players are dominating as red-zone tight ends, when they become untouchable the second they get their hands on the ball. It's like getting a rebound.

Whitner tells @MaioccoCSN he's willing to pay for Whitner jerseys after change to Hitner "depending on how many are out there."
So he had a built in excuse in case he changes his mind. If he does it after the year (when he won't need to buy all the jerseys), then respect for his stupidity.

My exact thoughts.
