Q: How do we know that the toothbrush was invented in the engineering labs at MSU?
A: Because otherwise, it would have been named a "TEETHbrush."

Q: How many MSU students does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: One, but he gets 4 credit hours.

Some of these are great. Starkville has one thing going for it, though - it is the most accurately named city in the world.

BTW, you act like you were there and know all about God--tell me, what is His will for your life?
I think what you are missing is that the sin is in thinking that you could know that or that you are so important to Him that every random dog that crosses your path is His direct communication to you of whatever you think he is communicating. You may get patted on the back for every religious-themed utterance elsewhere, but that won't happen here.

We should all be so lucky to make it to our 60's! But you're 100% correct.

USF PhD huh? did your advisor's last name end in adow?
My Ph.D. is in Instructional Design and Development from The University of South Alabama. I have never been to the USF Campus. My Chairperson's name at USA was Dr. Brenda Litchfield. My other Chairs were Dr. Jack Baylor (USA), Dr. Bill Cliburn (USM), and Dr. Clyde Eyster (University of Mobile), not that it matters much.
BTW, thanks to the rest of you for your respect. By and large, LSU fans are the greatest!

God enjoys slaughtering innocent dogs?
No, the dog apparently was OK. God did not cause the accident--He is not a thief who kills or destroys. As I said, I tried to find the dog. Dogs are very resilient. I already had 13 years working in a Veterinary facility, and I was prepared to try to doctor it if necessary. I even called out to anyone around there, but no one in the houses around there answered.

Not a joke, but a story that illustrates just how STARK it is in Starkville.
In 1981 (I think) LSU was undefeated and ranked 3rd in the country late in the season. For the first time in years, LSU played MSU in Starkville instead of Jackson. It was an afternoon game and the biggest game actually played in Starkville in decades.
I and a large group of LSU students went to the game and had made arrangements to stay overnight.
In a wild game, MSU beat LSU. IIRC the final score was 52-50 and MSU won on a last second 52 yard field goal (incidentally kicked by a guy from Belaire High in BR that the Tigers chose not to recruit.)
Anyway, the MSU crowd went absolutely crazy partying, celebrating etc.
Although we were dissappointed, my friends and I stayed the night. At about 9:00 that night we decided to go get something to eat. In the entire town, the only place that we could find was a Pizza Hut. However, it had already closed. I dont think there was anyplace else open to eat. They literally "rolled up the sidewalks" at about 8:30 even on the biggest football game night of the year.

LSUGrad9295: Although Miss. State's mascot is a Bulldog... they've been referred to as Aggies since 1905, as indicated by the following quote from hailstate.com, the official MSU team site:
Hence, my joke (How do Aggies practice safe sex? Answer being, By getting rid of the animals that kick) is valid, albeit, more understood by long-term fans (i.e, old). :)
However, to clarify, I've edited the original post to read, "MSU Students."
quote:
As with most universities, State teams answered to different nicknames through the years. The first squads representing Mississippi A&M College were proud to be called Aggies, and when the school officially became Mississippi State College in 1932 the nickname Maroons, for State's uniform color, gained prominence. Bulldogs became the official title for State teams in 1961, not long after State College was granted university status. Yet references to school teams and athletes as Bulldogs actually go back to early in the century, and this nickname was used almost interchangably with both Aggies and Maroons, since at least 1905.
