re: Will PP 21 be better than Neon Deon?

I do seem to recall Jerry Rice, the true GOAT, eating Atlanta's secondary, with Deion on the field, for 5 TDs in a single game in 1990.
Of course, Deion was starting to come into his prime. By the time he was there, they had some nice battles. I remember a couple INTs, but I also remember a couple 100 yd games and several TDs by Rice.
I always liked Rod Woodson better, because he would actually try to tackle people, but the way Deion could completely blanket a receiver not named Jerry Rice was pretty amazing.

He's not even the best in the league. Richard Sherman has been performing better.

when deion got his hands on a ball, go ahead and put 6 on the board

Deon's baseball prowess is over rated. He got struck out by Jose Oquendo.

along with his int tds he had 6tds on punts, 3 on kickoffs, and a few playing wr. the man did it all.

Not even close. Peterson is arguably the most overrated player in the league.
Flacco says hi.

However, his coverage skills are way overrated. He's decent in coverage, nothing more.
That's a little harsh. He's good in coverage, but not elite. He's no Richard Sherman, Revis, or even Joe Haden

Peterson is a freak, 1 in 10 year type of talent CB. Size, speed, fluidity, hip movement, ball skill, etc. He has it all.
That said, hes still not there yet. He improves each year, but still makes mistakes right now. In a few years, when he peaks, he has a shot to be on the same level as PrimeTime. I doubt he will be truly better though. Primetime is the best cover CB of all time. Period. People see Peterson and see his freak talent and the fact that hes nowhere near being topped out and think 1 day he COULD possibly be as good as Sanders. The question is,will he get there?
And, its not just Peterson that has a shot to be on the same level as Sanders. Richard Sherman is already a better cover CB than Peterson, but I think hes already playing at his top level talent wise, while Peterson is still improving and hasnt maxed out yet. Also, a CB that nobody really talks about that is 1 of the best true cover CBs in the NFL today is Joe Haden. If he was on a better team than the Browns, he would be recognized as a top 3 cover CB in the NFL. Kid is a stud.
Top 2 CBs of all time IMO are Deion Sanders as the best, and 2nd best is Champ Bailey. Just my opinion though.

He is talked about like he is.
I think he's a great player, but he's really nothing special in coverage.

PP7 isn't even the best corner to come out of tSEC the last couple years

He is definitely the most dynamic with the ball in his hands
Guy has had some sick punt returns in his career

I think PP just gets a little overrated because when he makes a play, it's usually an incredible athletic play that not many people in the NFL could make. But I agree that his actual coverage skills aren't exactly lock-down like you would think based on his hype.

Not a chance. I like Peterson But Sanders was in a class by himself.

I hated Deon when he played but his cover skills took away half of the field. His athletic ability was breath taking everything he did was effortless..I don't think he ever even lifted a weight

people are either too young to appreciate deion, or very quick to forget him
Oh I agree Deion was possibly the greatest CB to play the game. I wasn't talking about PP now I meant down the line. A. Williams was a great CB also but not better than Neon. I compared Neon because I think he was the greatest cover guy to play and PP because he's young and pretty damn good and wanted peoples opinions.

Hard to argue against champ just by looking at his career. He played forever and it seemed like he would never slow down. I agree too that Haden will be a great one he's already shutting down top receivers.
