That is such bull shite. Joe Pa was more powerful than the AD at PSU. To think he had no say in how the situation was handled is naive. Let's just play devils advocate and say he did the right thing and "left it up" to his superiors on how it would be handled. Why in the frick didn't he follow up when he didn't hear of an arrest? It was his program and there is no way the problem was only discovered when the kid was raped in the shower...he knew his DC was a sick bastard long before that incident.

I'm sure many powerful people were in the know.

Cool. SO what does that have to do with the current football program? He's dead. The AD is gone. The rapist is in jail. What reason does the NCAA have to withhold Penn State from offering scholarships to young men to come play football for them? What does that accomplish?

I had no problem with the $60 million penalty. That had a purpose. This scholarship reduction had no purpose other than Mark Emmert being able to say he did something for the mouthbreathers who wanted to nuke Penn State's football program for no damn reason. What's funny is that it is LSU fans who are saying that Penn State deserves to have the death penalty for 5 years because a former coach buttraped kids yet defend the hell out of Jeremy Hill and want no punishment for him or the football program. Way to be consistent.
