Downton Abbey Season 4 Episode 1 **Spoilers**

Just finished watching episode 1. A little different at first(it almost seemed played out thematically) but by episodes end it had achieved a resonance for the characters and moved the story forward.
I found the most poignant moments to be when Isobel Crawley(Matthew's mother) confronted her feelings on her now changed identity due to Matthew's death-very good performance from her this episode. Of course Maggie Smith is always fantastic to watch and this was no differnt. Her plea to Mary was touching as well. I even enjoyed a little comedy from Mr. Molseley and the Dowager Countess' s butler(the guy was hilarious). Thomas once again satisfies personal vendettas while sucking up to the Crawleys all the while. All in all satisfying.
Looking forward to the new characters and storylines in the hope it remains interesting-but I will still watch it for the sets and cinematography as there were yet more stunning shots this episode.

How can one watch this show in America?

I'm going to download it and watch it tonight.

Watched it tonight. Good episode that seems to set up some stuff for the rest of the season. Good to see Mary won't be moping around the whole season. As usual, Maggie Smith is great.

How are you watching?

primewire.ag
It is somewhat annoying with the pop-up ads but it does usually deliver good video and no problems if you have adequate malware protection. I find the links for sharesix, putlocker, sockshare, and nowvideo to be the most reliable and best quality. The episodes are usually up by Sunday evening. No way I can wait until January with all the spoiler leakage with the press that goes on.

Why start an season/ episode thread now when almost all people have to be a pirate to watch it...

Because I am not willing to wait 4 months and have the content of the show revealed before I have a chance to watch it as happened last year. I support PBS and have the DVD's so my guilt is assuaged. This is a different media world today and I'm not willing to sacrifice my enjoyment of the product. BTW- Piracy involves watching films for free when they are widely available at the cinema for purchase. There is no charge to watch Downton Abbey as PBS is non-profit so there is no loss of revenue involved.

Is the site I found a decent one? Looked good, but I didn't try it. I want to stream it to the TV. I have some sort of google chrome cast device I've never used.

I tried to check it out and watch the episode but I'll have to say I won't use it unless I can't find what I want on primewire.ag. It's simply a case of the devil you know in this case. But always good to know for future references.

Pretty good episode
I'm glad Mary is back in the "land of the living" as they put it. Dont think I couldve taken a whole season of her wearing black and making everyone else uncomfortable
Maggie Smith was great and I enjoyed the story with Thomas and Moseley's as well
Looking forward to another great season
P.S Tubeplus is the way to go for me

Can you stream to your TV? I want to watch, but not on a computer. I know I'm going to see spoilers if I don't watch, though I haven't read any substance in this thread so far!
