I tried to look at it again...but the only video I can find of the game is rnolan's...and it doesn't replay the catch.

You could only challenge a replay if you had a timeout and ASU has no timeouts.
No, that was not the rule.

A HUGE call happened right on front of me during the NC run in 2007 just prior to the famous Byrd miracle catch. LSU ran a 3rd down play which was CLEARLY short of a first down, but was marked very favorably and NOT CHALLENGED by Tuberville. I could not believe it. This was a hugely advantageous call in LSU's favor that facilitated our NC run.

there was replay for that game, the replay official chose not to change the call
Damn I don't remember that. I believe you, though. Whenever I see that play I can't help but think he didn't actually catch it. Looks really close.

Maybe in mixing up how NFL replay started and CFB.

He definitely bobbled the ball and didnt secure it until he was on his back , out of bounds.

College Football introduced replay in 2006, however some conferences (SEC being one) started it in the 2005 season. Since it was an LSU home game it was in effect. Being that my city was underwater at the time, I was sitting around watching tv 24 hours, and clearly remember them debating on PTI whether the replay official should have let them stand.

Supposedly Ridley did not get OOB vs Arky in '09. I've never seen the replay and there was no replay in the stadium.
Regarding the OM play in '72, we ran a play in 3s. It's not that unusual for a play to only take 3s if you watch the game clock during games. It happens.

A lot of people also bitched about whether Early Doucet's GW TD catch @ Arizona St. was actually a catch or not.
It wasn't

Does anyone know if Ole Miss' gripe with this game is legit or not?
I was at the game. The play took 3 or 4 seconds as it was a simple slant of less than 10 yards.
The next week in Birmingham, LSU ran the same pla and only 3 seconds were run off the clock by a bama clock operator.
Ole Miss has a bunch of cry baby fans. Always has, always will...

During the 2011 SEC championship game, TM7 tossing the ball to the ref before he crossed the goal line on the punt return.

During the UF 07 monumental "drive" seems like one of the 3 4th down and 1 conversions was awfully close/favorable spot; cant recall which thinking the last one at UF 15 or so. What a game though!

Corey Webster killed a Bama receiver in LSU's endzone and made a pick. Bama had control of the game at the time. That play (no call) IMO turned things around. LSU went on to win.

Won by more than 2 TD's (26-10), so may have seemed like we got a way with one really not a game deciding play.
