I think it's a smart move by the Browns.
They have a long way to go. Even if they continue to make smart moves by the time they're a serious playoff contender the tread will be off of the Richardson tires anyway.
Better to cut your losses and build for the future.

Trent Richardson is in elite company...only three rookie RBs ever with 250+ carries and 3.6 ypc or less. (Ricky Williams, Errict Rhett)

What other weapons did the Browns have? Defenses stacked the box.
You won't be able to stack the box with the Colts. Too many other weapons
