Id say start by the greek theatre (thats where we tailgate) and walk all though the indian mounds and go to the parade grounds. again, your welcome to come to our spot. I was treated well in Gainesville last year, returning the favor.

There is no open container policy. As long as you arent making a complete arse of yourself, and i mean COMPLETE arse, then you will be fine

Thanks Lmeye, might take you up on it!

Really the only chance you MAY get told something is if it's a glass bottle. That's really it....
Walk around wherever with your alcohol. As long as you aren't belligerent and starting fights you will be fine.

I'd make a big arse drink in like 32 oz cup then put the rest in one of those big plastic flasks you can get at gas stations and throw it in your back pocket
Carrying around a handle would be fine but if you do get stopped it would be hard to argue your case with a handle of Beam in your hand.

I've only been to one game in Gainesville, but I was treated very well and I've heard the same from other LSU fans. Hopefully everyone is very friendly and gracious... after they scream tiger bait a few times...

I'll be in Nola with a gator contingent.

I didn't know this. It must not be enforced at all. I drink glass bottles in front of cops every game day and have never been told anything. I guess they don't care as long as you are disposing of them properly.

Strictly no glass containers as noted here. The large plastic cups from a Circle K type store and a large flask works best. Coming from N.O I'd take La. 30 ..get off on the right side of I-10 and then drive under it...and 30 will lead you straight to the stadium/campus. Drive down as far as you can and/or you hit the barracades for private parking, U turn & park your car facing back the way you came....and just walk towards the stadium You will find all the tailgating food & drinks you can handle. If a 2 pm game, 7-8 am is not too late. A 6-7 kickoff, 11 is not too early.

Yeah I drink from glass bottles most games. Just throw it away properly

We don't have those stupid rules on tailgating like y'all have at the swamp.

And what is the open container policy?
You could literally walk around drinking straight from a fifth of wild turkey and nothing be said to you.

Okay thanks. I definitely want to get there early enough to experience it all, but I guess if we aren't tailgating and are just walking around with drinks it probably isn't a big deal if we don't park really close.

Yea that sounds like a pretty good plan. I'd be pretty disappointed if I had to throw away a handle.

I'll have some gator fans at my tailgate, right in between the Indian Mounds. Stop in for a drink

LSU fans are pretty good at this whole drinking thing. I had a great time with a group of Florida fans in 2011. Weren't the guidos I was worried they would be.

If your not causing a problem, their is zero chance of this happening.

There will be fans that will shout Tiger Bait wherever you go. Take it in stride and they will likely welcome you to their tailgate and you will have a great day. React poorly and let it get to you......you will not enjoy your experience. I would suggest picking up some whiskey and just walking around campus enjoying tailgating spots along the way. They are everywhere. If you wanted to stop by a bar/restaurant for lunch instead I would recommend The Chimes although it will likely be a long wait. Have fun during your time in BR. It is a great game day atmosphere and if it is a night game you will experience the greatest stadium atmosphere in all of sports.
