Snake Identification: Pool Skimmer Edition

Found this morning in the pool skimmer at my parent's home in NorthEast Louisiana.

What type of snake do y'all think it is?



Mom said to kill it, but Dad let it live.

I think it's a Dekay (Brown) snake--Storiea Dekayi. My resident snake freak isn't home right now to confirm. Harmless.

About how quick did you turn loose of that skimmer basket?

I reached in to clear some pine straw and some of the "straw" started wiggling.
