Seattle Fans set the noise record against the 49ers last night.

If I remember correctly didn't we get a reading in the 130s in 2007 vs Florida after the announcement that USC lost?

I don't think it is possible with our stadium
They have an unfair acoustical advantage
eta: stand up old people

from what i was told, their roof "traps" all of the noise as it tries to escape. so, i think that the engineering has a lot to do their record.
i know it was loud because it was loud on tv.

Yep....and they better test sound before halftime when everyone leaves.

The Tigahs will always have 2 things that Seattle won't:
Da K-Lady
Chris Guillot
LSU WINS!

Until they trigger a richter scale, I still say that LSU has the loudest stadium.

Went to a pre-season game during the trip up there for the UW/LSU game. Very impressed with the atmosphere and sound for a pre-season game. Their fans bring it.

These days, the Superdome during a Saints game trumps Tiger Stadium and it isn't even close.

Seattle has some of the best sports fans in the world.
With the new additions to Tiger Stadium I am confident that the structure will trap more sound and of course there will be more people.

This. Also the reason the Oregon and U of Washington stadiums are so loud. They have these metal roofs that extend out over the stands and bounce the sound back down toward the field. So any record in those places needs an asterisk. (Of course TS has a slight architectural advantage as well, in that the stands are pitched much more steeply (closer to vertical) than most, trapping the sound to some extent. Thank Huey Long, who had them built that way in order to accommodate the dormitories.

Volume 12 footed the bill for the Guinness World Records official to come to Seattle and wasn't affiliated with the team.

Opposite of Michigan's Big House. Quietest 100k people I've ever heard and I went for a game against Michigan St. that went down to the wire.
Its just wide open.
I really hope LSU gets some sound engineers involved with the design of the new upperdecks so we can plan to trap and echo the sound in more.
Some materials bounce sound better than others.

I flew up for the Saints/Seahawks game in 2007. The stadium absolutely traps all the noise in. It sounds completely different than Tiger Stadium.

And I bet there are some seats in that place that put you miles away from the action.

LSU has had 3 games that were much louder than Seattle has ever dreamed of.
LSU vs UGA 2003
LSU vs Bama 2008 block kick
Earthquake game
If Jalen Mills tips that ball inteded for Yeldon and takes it back for six that would have been the loudest moment in any sporting event ever.

Yeah I think LSU's loudest was 129 or so vs Florida in 2007, and I think the Saints were around 125.

True dat. I spent 3 years there in law school. If you're at the top of the stadium you're actually in a different Zip Code from the sidelines.
