What We Know Through Three Games...

We know that our offensive appears to be vastly improved over last year, with the passing game appearing to be as good as it has ever been under Miles.
We know we have depth at RB.
We know we only have two dependable receivers at this point in the season.
We know that the defense is talented, however we also see their youth and inexperience.
As such, we realize that we are likely going to give up more points than in previous years.
Tre White appears to be the real deal.
As to schedule:
Alabama is good, but they are beatable until proven otherwise;
Georgia is good, but also beatable (their win over South Carolina does not look as impressive with USCe struggling a bit with Vandy).
aTm is beatable, but they can also ring up yards and points (Bama has never given up that many yards in their program's history).
Ole Miss is good...they will score and they can play decent defense...plus we play them in Oxford.
I am not as concerned about any of the other games.
All things considered, I am not too sure that if you took a poll of predicted wins and losses again, that it would be dramatically different than in the pre-season.
LSU could realistically go undefeated or could realistically lose 4 games.
What say you?

If we know that something "appears" to be a certain way, aren't you just saying we don't know?

see, this is why I get angry listening to people bitch about us playing some soft opponents at the beginning of the season:
We've had three games to take this team for a test spin.
You've got a brand new offense, and your QB has had three solid games to learn the nuances, understand the language, and process the execution.
You've got a bunch of youth on defense, and you've had the opportunity to try out some guys to see what they can do, and tweak some positions where you weren't sure of what you were going to have.
This week starts the real season, and its gonna be non stop til December. Why people are upset about our first three games is beyond me. This schedule is a monster, and aside from having Bye-Bama-Bye, its set up about as favorable for this team as you could ask for.

How do u figure they can realistically go undefeated? Based on their first 3, basically rent-a-wins, the offense is much improved, however, the defense is no where near what it was last season. Bama, UGA, aTm, and Ole Miss will all have enough of an offense to outs ore LSU. I believe a more realistic out one would be 10-2. Their schedule is brutal and that combined with the young defense/lack of depth will cause all sorts of trouble once they actually play the better conference teams.

Because you don't have to be the '85 Bears or the 2000 Ravens when you can actually throw the ball a little bit. The defense is still very good and now the passing offense is a good 70 spots higher than it has been in years past.

It appears that Les' involvement at this point is...
- Calling plays when Jennings is in
- who starts at middle linebacker
- coaching the punter
- coaching the backup punt returner

Your comment on UGA and their win over a struggling USCe can be applied to our game vs. TCU. They had their hands full with Southeastern and lost to Texas Tech.
I do like our new and improved passing game however we still have a lot to prove.

VS TCU-> 259 yds allowed
VS UAB-> 296 yds allowed (187 in first half)
VS Kent st-> 248 yds allowed (117 in first half)
Yeah, we suck. Why cant we hold those teams to negative yds like I do in NCAA '13 on PS3?

Beckwith is a monster
Kwon is rounding into form
Allen has replaced Sam
our OL looks good
Mett is an NFL QB
10-2 is the worse we will go

It's offensive that you called our offense offensive.

Up until this point we have run mostly 2-wide sets, so I'm not really sure where this comment keeps coming from. Though it does seem a little puzzling, especially in blowouts we haven't gotten more people work earlier.

I think we lose 1 game maximum this year if at all.

Offense - Wish we had that one last year!!
Defense - If we struggle with a roll out QB from Kent State, I really fear A&M. I cannot tell what we are lacking at LB, speed or reads, but either way, when contact is made, we need to bring them down.
Special Teams - Head Case punter. I noticed he boomed a couple at halftime, but shanked a few too. He's got the leg but not the cool cucumber that Wing was.
I'm thinking we loose just two wind up #2 or #3. If we had Bama's schedule, We'd cruise to SEC Championship.

quote:. I say 3 losses. Before the season started I thought 4 losses , maybe 5. I still think we lose to UGA, Bama, and either aTm or elderly miss.

I'd add (positives):
- emergence of Allen at DE
- McGee is a pleasant surprise (wait till we start throwing to RBs)
- through 1st 3 games Chavis seems to be adjusting the D back 7 (containment)
Worries (other than the "usual" posted here):
- special teams; kick coverage
- RBs and protection schemes
- Want to see Mett get hit a couple times and not suffer performance drop off
ETA: sorry, just noticed you did mention Allen

I don't think LSU can or will beat Bama. I think Bama is just too good.

just a shame we can't have the defense and offense in the same season, it's always just a year or so off
