I don't know a lot.

however, I find this amusing that some in this thread are complaining about the coaching on defense.

John Chavis is a GREAT d.c., whatever issues we have on defense isn't because of coaching. He's the same d.c. that had dominate d's at tenn and constructed probably the best defense in lsu history in 2011.

The issues we have is more likely due to inexperience and talent. Welter know's what to do but is limited from a talent stand point. J collins and mills probably know what to do but are limited. Then you have highly talented guys like q.a., d.b., d.j., white, robinson, who aren't experienced enough to recognize what to do.

this isn't complicated and i have the ut most faith that these guys are getting the best teaching out there. some get it quicker than others. Minter was an entirely different player from his soph to his jr year.

If you are bitching about coaching on the defensive side of the ball, just stop. you look stupid.

Chavis is a great DC (and arguably the best LB pos coach of al-time) but his D's at Tenn were seldom dominant. His best body of work is happening before our eyes. 2011 was a great D but in recent times 2003 has been the best.

As for this year's D, we're simply young and making young mistakes. I think Chief is probably experimenting some so there may be some lineup changes come Auburn game - I expect'em at LB and DB.

Great point. Similarly, Kelvin Sheppard in his 2nd yr under Chief became a force at LB in '10.
