Only once. It was in New Orleans back in the 70s but I can't remember the name of the place. I asked for prices when I ordered. They were high.

Reminds me of some hoity toity places I've read about but never went to. They don't offer a menu. You eat what the chef feels like cooking that day.

There is a place in Houston like that called Fuad's

Prix fixe menu is done as a result of what the chef finds at the market that morning that is the freshest in good restaurants that don't keep a lot of stuff in a cooler. I would like to have the chance to go shopping at the big assed market in Paris once. It is larger than more than a few football stadiums combined and shite arrives from all over the night before.
