Let's Talk Up Loyalty

I know that I am living in the Stone Age, but I really wish we would stop all of the posts about Cam Cameron leaving and where players project in the draft. Why don't we encourage people like Beckham, Collins, Landry, Hill, etc. to return. These guys could take out insurance policies to protect themselves against injury. If we had Mingo, Minter, Reid, Montgomery, etc., this could be a championship team. I am tired about us talking about the NFL, let's talk about LSU and success for and loyalty to LSU. Go ahead and tell me how naive and stupid I am.

I see what you're saying but in the end its not like we matter to much in this.
They'll do whats in their best interest

It's gonna be a championship team without them.

Insurance policies only work if they never play again. Not tear shite up and suck but still can play

Why? In this day and age if you're good, you need to leave ASAP. Coming back for a Senior season and bettering a successful Junior (or RS soph) campaign almost never works out. Putting players in the league is a staple at LSU and is a top reason why we roll in top recruits year in and year our.

You can't create a thread like this. This whole board is more about being a prick versus contributing anything that makes sense. Good try, though.

Thanks. The kids need to be about LSU, not the NFL. I guess the fact is guys like the Mannings, Luck, Dorsey, Barrett Jones, Whitworth, and the list could go on just didn't get it. In today's world it's all about the hype and the money; in my world, it isn't.

The best thing for LSU is for as many players as possible to go to the NFL. That's how you keep getting great players. It's not that hard of a concept to understand.

Almost everyone you named was white and from a rich family. A lot of these guys have legitimate financial reasons to get to the NFL and start making money at ASAP. If someone had come to you after your junior year at LSU and offered you a 4 million dollar a year job, but there was no guarantee the job would be there in a year, I'm sure you'd turn them down right?
Besides based on what I can tell the guys who leave early have just as much love for lsu as much the guys who stay all 4 years.

Spot on! I feel sorry for some of these early defections to NFL that are borderline and don't pan out. They miss out on their senior year and chance for some great lifelong memories. Life's short enough as it is. Enjoy the ride. That's my advice. Loyalty and enjoying your Senior year in college. I know there is another side to this story but once you make that decision to go pro there is no turning back..... Choose wisely.

Playing for LSU takes a back seat if you're from a family that is looking at foreclosure and bankruptcy. Not every "student-athlete" comes from a home with a net income of a million a year.
