I am dealing with one of them too, but his manager is the roadblock. I don't get his issue. I know they need to make a profit, but damn.

Personally, I hate negotiations as well...and its my job.
Best question I love to ask...that other salespeople thing im crazy...is...What do you think is a fair price for this vehicle? And then we go from there...much easier.

I bet even if I tell you a fair price you'll come back with a higher number. I've played that game before.

I just got an email from Joe Myers Ford. They are offering a F150 4 X 4 XLT with 302A equipment group for $30,331 after rebates. It is in their internet specials tab. Might be worth a look.

Went to All-Star Kia Friday after work w/Mrs. G-Funk (no pics, GTFO) looking to downsize her from her Charger R/T. Had a bad experience w/both salesperson and inventory manager. Salesperson wasn't at fault but was green. Inventory Manager didnt want my business. At all.
Went in looking for a used Optima. Woke up Saturday and had salesperson call me back at the house. Didn't move on price but asked about trade. Said I wasn't happy but they offered blind appraisal. Said okay, call me back.
Called back to say they didnt offer blind appraisals on her car and they needed me to come in. Which nailed the coffin shut on the Siegen Lane location.
Took the Bride's car to their Fla/Flannery location today around lunch.
Picked out a Pearl/Snow White 2013 Optima LX. With $1,500 in rebates included, I brought them down to under $20K off a $23,800 MSRP. After trade, we financed less than $17K for 5 years at 1.9%.
Wife's car note went from close to $500 to less than $300, and we got floor mats, gas, detailing, and an erl change included.
Hated to part with that 396hp Hemi V8 Charger R/T...the fun to drive factor on it is unparalleled. But seeing my wife had slightly more than half a tank of gas and over 330 miles to empty makes up for it.

No. She bought the car before we even met. We got 13 for it. Owed 9. Put just under 4K towards the Optima.

Not that I'm nitpicking, but unless Optimas have a 20+ gallon fuel tank, this is a wee bit of an exaggeration, no?

Just going off what was on the readout, Bro. I have done some research and heard that they miss the mark on their EPA estimates once they're in the wild...

Ya, the wife's jetta which is referenced in this thread gets over 50mpg at 60-65 mph...they've marked it as 42 hwy

Just started looking at Kia's this morning. That car has it all over the others in it's class. Was pretty impressed.
Going to test drive later this week.
I'm looking for a cheap commute car. The Kia Forte looks like the winner.

That doesn't shock me at all. My wife's Accord beats highway rating by 5mpg easily.
I've gotten 42 highway in a gas powered mid sized sedan, albeit on flat roads at a steady 65mph. This is the 2.4L with the CVT.
The range on that thing is insane.

bought my wife a Nissan Murano recently and actually printed out Will Cover's list to bring to the dealership and go over with her on the way there. My company gets an employee purchase plan so he basically started negotiations at $150 under invoice. Got him down a few hundred more since i didn't really want the nav package but it was all that was on the lot and worked in a nice bump on the trade in. The epp also got a bumper to bumper extended thrown in at like $500 with the disclaimer if i dont use it in 6 years i get it back.

That's over 600 miles on a tank. Optima LX specs say 18.5 gallon tank and EPA ratings of 24 and 35. That gives you an approximate range of 444 to 647.5. I'm just not buying you had 330 with over half a tank left.

Huge fan of those. Depending on the next redesign, it is definitely in the running for my next vehicle. I just wish you could get the manual transmission with the higher trim packages.

The deals on the internet at Mac Haik look damn good. They had a brand new King ranch listed at 37k. I'm not sure if prices are negotiable beyond that?

Everything is negotiable if you want it to be. But they know they usually have the lowest price, so they are pretty stubborn from what I've seen.
