Why does Creed have so many haters?

One thing I don't really understand is why Creed has so many haters that diss the music and the band. I actually like Creed and while I haven't heard all their songs, the ones I have heard are really good rock songs that are catchy and heavy at the same time. The lyrics are sincere and actually have a relevant point, and say what you want about Scott Stapp, but the guy can write songs and deliver on the singing, despite the Eddie Vedder rip-off accusations. So all in all, I think Creed is a great band that gets hated on a lot because they're perceived as a Christian rock band and because they're an easy target to pick on.

Ive always like Creed (preparing to get bashed now). But I just remember liking their songs growing up and I thought they were a good band. Not an all time great but good. Never did understand the hate for them.

I agree shifty, I've always thought Creed was a good band that has some really good songs that are catchy, melodic, and very accessible. Sure, Scott Stapp may sound like Eddie Vedder, but at least he sounds like a good singer! I thought the Christian rock label earned them a lot of critics, which is unfortunate because Scott's lyrics are from a sincere Christian point of view.

Lol, trust me guys, compared to a lot of the stuff on the radio today, Creed has good music. They may not be Led Zeppelin or The Beatles, but they're not One Direction or Justin Bieber either.

Has nothing to do with it.
Here you go, OP I found the holy grail of why Creed sucks.

It's all a matter of opinion. Obviously, as their record sales and concert attendance indicates, many people think Creed are a good band. Every band has their detractors, I've even heard people criticize the Beatles, who are considered to be the greatest band in the history of music. Just because a group of people say a band sucks, doesn't mean they suck in actuality. It's all a matter of perspective.

Creed sounds like pearl jam trying too hard. Their singer sounds really close to doing a vedder karaoke.

Because the make shite music. Has nothing to do with anything else

It's because they, along with Nickleback, basically produced the exact same sound on every record. I was a fan of creed through their first two albums, but by the third album, it was sounding like the first album again. I don't remember which songs it was, but there are 2 creed songs that the music is almost identical. I'll do some research and see if I can find them.

LSUGUMBO, Creed and Nickelback are often lumped together, but one key difference is the lyrics. I would say Creed is way better than Nickelback in that department. Nickelback isn't as horrible as most people make them out to be, they have some catchy songs with a big sound, but their lyrics aren't that great. Like I said earlier, Creed may not be the most original band, but I think in their own right, they were pretty good. A lot better than the modern music we have today, a lot of the stuff you hear on pop radio.

Here's the problem, you're comparing them to radio pop bands and not rock bands. Sure they're better to listen to than Justin Bieber or Katey Perry, but compared to bands like Shinedown or Three Days Grace for example, its just more of the same generic rock. That being said, I do like them a lot better than most of the radio friendly rock bands of the last few years.
